Mancini out? (merged)

As Pep is out of the picture; for the members who wants Mancini "out", are you thinking of Mourinho?

What do you think the chances of securing him, while considering below points:

- News stating that our current top brass had overlooked or declined Mourinho the chance to coach Barca, during their time there.

- As various members seem furious at Mancini rantings on his players; I recall Mourinho did the same to his team this season.

- Members are stating that Senior Squad members are disgruntled about Mancini this season; well Mourinho is no better, as before he landed in Real, he demanded the departures of Raul and Guti (the most influential senior squad members at that time). This season, he seems in a heated battle with Casillas and Ramos..... (Captain and Vice-Captain; imagine him sidelining Kompany and Zabaleta in our team!)

While we had a very bad performance in our last match; even the goals conceded were because of our own players' errors/gifts....

You need to realize that it is not our given right to win the league every single season....Members’ impatient nature is understandable since we have just won it, after a loooooong time in waiting.....
Be realistic in your judgment; we are bound to come into such situations in many of the seasons ahead of us!.....

For the time being; keep the faith in the manager and our players.

Your point is a great one, I just wonder if he can become a great manager when he does'nt learn from his mistakes, instead he points the finger at everyone else makes excuses and all this without questioning himself or his tactics, methods etc my big worry with mancini is his stubbornness.

Mancini is bonkers and I don't particularly like him or his style BUT he must be given 5 years - anything else is just going in circles for the club -

by changing the manager every couple of years it gives players way too much power - they get used to it and then lose respect too easily - its also a way for them to pass the buck.

I was at the Southampton game with the home support quite close to the dugout and watched him closely - he looked desperate and his mannerisms were that of a man who's losing control or not got it at all. The support for him/and the team was amazing from the City fans, even at 3-1 down - I wonder whether it gave him any comfort!?

He clearly needs to chill and go back to bascis but with the spectre of a another manager taking over how can he. By saying what he has recently he's wrting his obituary - hence my first comment being bonkers.

I'm sure he will learn a lot by reflecting over the summer and regroup and from the lessons of this season build a stronger and more focusesd team - cause that is not what we got at the moment.

bottom line - he's gotta be given more time and I believe he could become a really great manager - that takes time
HE MUST BE given 5 years, load of old tosh

It was a general statement; independent of our manager in future seasons.

Even if we have Mourinho; we are bound to have a similar match incident with him down the line....He already faced a similar situation in Real; their last loss was an own goal by CR7! (to Granada, if I'm not mistaken!!)

Declined Mourinho on the basis that they decided he wasn't right for Barcelona at that particular time.

Txiki is and remains to this day a friend of Mourinho and has indeed stayed at his house on numerous occasions.

Some don't deserve that.

Cannot argue on that!!

Regardless, all players are in this now; they need to repay the fans' faith in them (well some, more than others!!)...

there speak the voice of reasoned logic. Just for the record I meant 5 years in total, he's had 3 so 2 more.

My main point, it's crap to change becasue it's become a little uncomfortable and we're only 2nd and we're not going to win the league again - boohoo- just seems another nail in the coffin of what football was about. Now its instant success all the time or get rid

Put the wish lists to one side for the time being and save your energy for our manager (the sheikhs chosen one) and our team. After all there's still plenty to play for.

So why has it been OK for several posters to label him a rag, just for having an opinion?

sigh, yes, i picked on him on purpose...is that what you want to hear.

i think being called a rag is a little less abusive than telling someone to go fuck themselves
not in my eyes you've called me that numerous times today! Like I said if you have nothing constructive to add why comment on the thread! Or do you just go round threads calling people rags! Pathetic

You live upto your name.

Lose a game, sack the manager. Is this the modern fan's normal state
it's not because we lost a game I'm looking at the bigger picture! Poor tactics players unhappy with the style of play and fans, I just don't think mancini can take us to that next step especially in Europe! But the truth is we've been poor all season sure we've grinded out wins but not looked a good team at the top of there game in any match I've been to this season correct me if I'm wrong ?

If you keep nibbling the hook, everyone will keep throwing the line in, just a thought?

Sacking Mancini at the end of the summer is suicidal for our club moving forward.

Like others have mentioned, we need the players who will fight for the shirt and show passion each and every week. Possessing a manager who demands respect and is in control is a key factor in getting the players to show the above traits each week. At the moment, I don’t feel the players believe Mancini will be here next summer, and they are playing accordingly.

We need the board to publicly back Mancini….and then if player A or player B don’t like it or don’t want to fight for their future here, then they can f*ck right off.

What would happen at Everton or United if a player showed disrespect, caused upheaval or didn’t show any spirit? They’d be out the door….
That’s why I would rather have stability in management rather than the playing group

In Sorriano's book, 'Goal' he and Begiristain (amongst others on the Barcelona board) strive to work with Frank Rijkaard, and get him to change his managerial style after failing to retain their Le Liga title.

If Mancini is willing to work with them, involve them, and be open to change then I think he will be given every chance like Rijkaard was.

Birgiristain will not be far away from Mancini in his football philosophy and I'm sure they can find common ground on tactics and transfer targets.

The easy thing for Sorriano and Begiristain to do would have been to get rid of Rijkaard earlier than they did, and employ Mourinho when they did recruit a new manager. Anyone thinking the obvious thing for them to do will be to sack Mancini should think again.
