I've not really kept up with the thread so appologies if I'm saying things others have said.

I think there is either something in the rumours or our upper management are doing something very wrong. No way should rumours of Mancini being replaced in the summer be allowed to constantly be in the papers.

If Mancini is staying then the club should make a statement along the line of 'Roberto Mancini has been the manager on Manchester City for 3 and a half years and signed a new 5 year deal last summer and rumours of the club seeking to replace him are false. The club fully backs Mr Mancini and we are looking forward to the future of the club with him as manager'. This will either stop papers making up stories on a daily basis about his future or when papers make headlines week after week about so and so being the new manager we sue them.

I think he probably will be replaced in the summer because a statement like this hasn't been made. (yes i know its not a great statement). If he is staying, a statement should have been made! Constant speculation can't be helping Mancini or the players.

So you're saying if he is staying we should have made a statement, but then say you think he'll be going. Maybe that's why they haven't made a statement...?

Yeah, why would you let your manager come under so much speculation, especially in the week running up to the cup final if there wasn't something in the speculation?

Obviously they don't want to come across as liars by saying 'Mancini will be staying and we have full confidence in him' only to fire him at the end of the season.

So I'm taking the club remaining silent as Mancini being sacked in the summer or as a huge error on the clubs part for letting speculation completely take over. It's a weekly think in his press conferences 'So Roberto, ... has been linked with replacing you in the summer'. Where as if the club want Mancini as manager, you make a statement backing him surely? Then say they'll be no questions asked to him in press conferences and then sue false claims that are published in the papers on a daily basis!

Maybe if you didn't post "Mancini out" in every thread we wouldn't keep running into one another
Well you know, today's been quite shit, there are bound to be people unhappy with the manager on these boards. Although I find it admirable that you are so staunchly defending Mancini, I think you are doing it in the wrong threads, on the wrong day.
It only seems like staunch defending to those who are over reacting
It's only an over reaction in your opinion. To me and a lot of other posters, this reaction is entirely justifiable.

This guy is no better than Mancini...

We are asking for trouble if we hire a guy called Manuel..

Can see the headlines now " i know nothing Mr Faulty "
How do you know he is no better than Mancini?

His record says so..
So because he took a relatively small team in Villareal to the semis of the CL, achieved Real Madrid's highest ever points tally in la liga and has now got Malaga (debutants) in the CL to the quarters and if it wasn't for an awful refereeing decision he would of got them to the semi's he has a poor CV.

Let me guess keep Mancini let him spend another £150 million and we will improve right?

Like I said yesterday there seems to be a big spread between the odds of Pellegrini. The odds this morning varied from 4/5 to 1/4. Of those laying yesterday at 1/10 and 1/6. Today giving 2/5 and 1/2 respectively. Like I said these odds do not seem consistent and bookmakers tonight are not certain that Pellegrini will be the next manager. However what I have heard is that a significant amount of money has gone on Mourinho to be City's next manager. Bets of 2x £2,000 and 1 x £1,500. Reducing his odds from 9/1 to 7/2. This again could change tomorrow. I have no idea of what will happen, just passing on information. Personally felt that Mourinho will not go back to Chelsea.

No it doesn't, he has enjoyed better success in the champions league than Mancini.

But I want to see the headline 'Manuel gets beaten by Basel' even if it means us crashing out of Europe again.

Has Mancini blamed marwood yet?

He boxed clever and just blamed the "club"

So far on here its Txiki, Ferran and poor Vicky who are to blame ;-)

People would have a lot more respect for him if he held his hands up and admitted his own mistakes honestly. Mistakes by others have of course been made, but he is judged by what happens on the pitch and this season has been pretty shit

Can't wait for a new manager

Spot on. A little humility now and then with him showing genuine signs of seeing his own failings and addressing them and i think most would cut him a lot more slack but alas, its never his fault and he seems unable to learn from his mistakes.

Tbf not all managers play a team 3 weeks before and struggle, play them again exactly the same way and lose and then take no responsiblity and starts blaming the club officials.
