Mancini quote in MEN: "two or three more players"

After a season like this - you DONT shake up a roster by selling 5-6 players and bringing in that many more.

After a season like this, and considering our owner's and the club's ambition, this is exactly what we do.
We failed in all the cups, and next year I assume the PL title and the CL title are what we are aiming for. The FA might also be pretty high on the list of priorities.

I remember when chelseas won the fa cup and prem 2 years ago but only brought in ramires in the summer even though there squad was thin, the season after they had a great start but the wheels started to fall of as there squad wasnt strong enough. Next season we might be more unlucky with injuries so we do need to invest maybe 3 or 4 players coming in but the confidence we will gain from yesterday will be like signing a world class players.

You're right about injuries United had the highest number of injuries in the PL we had the fewest. It's also vital that Yaya wont disappear for the ACN next year. This year his national coach played hardball refusing to let him play in the FA cup. It's almost karma that he's decided to stay with us next year.

Players #18 to #25 need to be players Mancini can trust, with our squad would we have won the league if we were still in CL/Europa and the FA Cup in those final weeks? I'm not sure as Mancini doesn't seem to trust much of squad beyond the main 16 or 17 players so would have been playing Yaya, Kompany, and Lescott over and over again probably.

So not necessarily all big names but good players who will accept their role in the rotation and bring genuine quality. We could look at clubs like Villarreal (Bruno Soriano for example) for cheap but talented acquisitions.

in my ideal world

out: Kolarov (I like him, but I think we all agree that apart from his long shot he's pretty much useless)
Savic (loan)
Kolo (at the risk of upsetting Yaya, hopefully he wont throw a baby fit)
Dzeko (great player, but would fit in a Bundesliga side far better)

in: a centreback to challenge Lescott (Hummels perhaps, im stumped on this one, perhaps Coloccini?)

Ramires from Chelsea (absolutely amazing player, versatile as all hell, can play RB, midfield, on the wings), alternatively Tiote if Mancini feels like he has enough offensive midfielders.

some striker to replace Dzeko, perhaps Falcao? would cost way too much probably. maybe Papis Cisse. Adebayor returning perhaps? We also have Guidetti. I think Ade and Guidetti would fit in great with Tevez / Aguero / Mario being the first choices.

+ the obvious Hazard (done deal probably). Although i'd take Kagawa infront of Hazard, just cause he's free and to rub Utd's nose in it.

oh and I forgot we'd have to replace Kolarov. again stumped here, absolutely no idea who would fit in here. how about Martin Olsson from Blackburn? From what i've seen this year he was the only bright spot in an otherwise dog team.

Reported in Sweden that he's a Chelsea target.

Apparently the merseyside local media were claiming yesterday that we are in for Skrtel (which is why he was left out yesterday) and Baines.

I can see the logic behind Skrtel purely as a back up to Kompany. He'd give us a physical presence that we do not get from Kolo and Savic.

I suppose Baines as a replacement for Kolarov also makes sense although it would depend on the net cost.

Baines would be a really good signing if he accepted the rotation, we could rotate with a lot less anxiety. A month ago they were talking about United getting him at a cut-price £5million even though he has a contract until 2015... must be related to Everton's debt but I doubt we'd get him for £5million.
