Klopp or Simeone will be managing City next season in my opinion.

Pellegrini is a decent manager and was the right man post-Mancini to sort our dressing room out, but he isn't a great manager and there will be better managers available in the summer.

Simeone could be a flop with these players and I'm a big Simeone fan. He is a defensive/counter attacking/set-piece coach like Mourinho so he'd need players willing to die for the cause and graft graft graft... some of these simply aren't. Just look at Kolarov strolling back.

Whoever took over if Pellegrini got sacked would probably win the league, then the following season see an inconsistent City finish 2nd or 3rd. And the cycle would continue. Eventually, people may stop blaming the manager and looking at the mentality of the players and also the lack of "WOW!" signings to follow up on our league wins.

IMO there's only one manager out there who may be able to motivate the players to a consistent higher level while also playing the City Football Group brand of football... and his name is Pep Guardiola, who is unavailable. Hence, just keep Pellegrini and start reshaping the team with FRESH faces offering (very importantly) FRESH ideas, something we haven't really seen after either title win.

Hand Pellegrini a trio of top class players like Chelsea and Real have and we'd probably avoid some of these recurring problems.

Whilst I agree the players have to take some blame, I have seen enough of Pellegrini to know he isn't a great manager, his tactics at times have been atrocious and on a lot of occassions he never seems to learn from his mistakes.

Some of the football this season has been worse than the side Mancini had in his last season.

The squad needs redeveloping anyway and Simeone would be the man to come in and change what needs to be changed and install a die hard no nonsense winning mentality at the club.

Either him or Klopp.

We ain't getting Pep soon, he will be at Bayen for a few more seasons yet.

It's about time we appointed an out an out world class manager.

I thought Fernando once again played well. He is a defensive midfielder, and does that job very well.

If the other players did their job as well as he did his then we would be OK.

And the other player picked on is Navas and he was once again our best attacking threat

We lost because we crumbled after Boro scored. And beause Pellegrini made the wrong subs. He should have left Navas on. Why he took him off I don't know. Players like Aguero and Kompany are not fit. The only good thing is that the got another 90 minutes under their belts

Kompany's poor form has got nothing to do with tactics and everything to do with his attitude. What was he doing trying to dribble past their forwards in his own penalty area? Always tries to showboat. He needs to cut that out.

Simeone would be an excellent appointment imo. He'd get us organised and disciplined, and this seems to be what we need at the moment. We're a shambles defensively and much too easy to play against.

Those talking about Kompany diving in (which he is doing Im no arguing with) need to ask why?

The tactical shift since Pellers took over has caused this.....kompny is getting drawn into situations where he is constantly having no chance of winning . This is wholly because of the lack of balance in our midfield due to our style of play......MP's attack at all costs is causing this .....on couple of breakaways today in the last 10 mins boro outmanned us.....zabba and kolorov (especially) were no where to be seen fernandinio and milner trying to get back but not having the legs to do it

People have been rightly critical of fernando for the goal (also id add cabellero into that - Hart would have come out and put his body on the line - cabellero certainly didn't) - however fernando saved us on a few occasions as well.

There has been for the last couple of seasons a huge gapping hole in front of where the two centre halves sit......the tactics employed by pellergrini cause this.....as do our vulnerability to counter attacks with our fullbacks basically playing as wingers (and one of them who when he is at fullback cannot defend at all).....lots of teams the moment they hit us on the break push the ball out to their right channel (our left) as they know Kolorov cannot/won't recover....if the attack comes down zabbas side the forwards make runs to the front post and the centre halves have to follow them leaving whoever is attacking down their right hand side wide open (it happened twice today!) where there is a huge kolorov shaped hole

there is only so much space Kompany, whoever his partner is and the CDM (whoever that is - fernando in this case) can cover

His persistaant picking of naves is frustrating as his form is extremely poor.....milner likewise who offers very very little going forward

The tactical errors are repeated time and time again..he tries to play the same system when he doesn't have the players to play it when certain players are missing

In the summer milner, naves, kolorov, Cabellero should all be sold.......those first 3 are the biggest weak points in our team/squad

Add one of Dzeko and Jovetic to that as well.

Sagna is a non entity at this club.

I don't think Fernando is up to being in the top midfield we need to compete at a higher level and tempo but perhaps he should be given one more season.

As you can see massive changes to our starting line up.

Kompany is at the cross roads in the set up we currently have but maybe replacing MP will help him.

Kompany was much more assured under Mancini.

Agree with much of what I've read; caballero, sagna, Kolarov, Fernando, milner and Jovetic all need to be replaced in the summer. You could easily add another couple to that list too.

Pellegrini is the right manager for us and I wonder what his true thoughts are on his squad. I remember him questioning Madrid's squad for not being well balanced and we must have the most unbalanced squad in Europe.

We have very little width, no plan B and our whole midfield is reliant on Yaya. Add to that the fact that our midfield is defensively weak, it is no surprise that these results are happening.

I like MP, I want him to be a success. i like the way he conducts himself doesn't get drawn into petty squabbles. he seems to be a genuinely good guy.

However, we don't need a good guy we need a winner. A few things are really starting to bug me now.

Why do we have to keep rotating our defence? every game we seem to change at least 2 players. how can we ever get a solid back line if they are always being changed?

Why o why can we not put a couple of EDS lads on the bench and give them some game time, this is really pissing me off now. i'm not saying we should be throwing them in fir the sake of it but surely we need to give them some hope for the future.

Why do we start Navas every game? he is not on the top of his game and it shows.

Serious questions need to be asked and quickly, lose to Chelsea and Barca and our season is in danger of collapse.

again people saying jovetic but i think that is really unfair..he is a quality player and played well today until he was wrongly taken off

Sagna - he is a decent back up for zabba and should definitely be kept..he would get into most other perm teams starting line up

Not sure on fernando - he does make mistakes but he also does a lot of good work

Completely agree on kolorov, cabellero, milner - id add navas to that as well

We lost because we couldn't score when he had the better of things.

Also we don't know how to put games to bed when we get the opportunity to do so ala Sunderland and Burnley.

What's really missing is the killer instinct and with the real rare exception its been missing all year.

I think the quality of our passing and ability to set up quilt edge chances and put them away and keep the tempo high has gone backwards at some alarming speed with this squad this squad.

This a a combination of the players resting on their laurels once again and MP managing worse in all facets this year.

We need a Simeone, he is the only manager in European football who can rival Jose both tactically and in the mind games as a package.

Have you seen his henchman, sorry, I mean assistant?
