Our tactics makes us easy to play against. Even with 150-200-250m pounds starting line ups, we are not disciplined or organized at all tactically meaning especially when it comes to defendeding aka when we dont have the ball.

1.5 year still was not enough for Pelle to really organize a sound defensive system. Clearly so far tha arrival of Mangala/Fernando who were defensive powerhouses in the summer did not improve us much maybe they will bit later.

Simply teams like Burnley, Sunderland, Boro can come to us and score 2 goals easily and also they miss some good chances too on top of it. They can come to us and do it. Because we let it trough lack of sound defensive system.
If we maybe play well in defending their open play attacks then all they need to do is some corners ad mostly set piesc which we give away easily usually and thats it we concede again even if the arial ability of Kompany, Fernando, Demichelis, Mangala etc clearly very good but when a set piece ball coming in they turn into joke sometimes. One head smaller players can arrive and have clear header next to them.

Also the way we react to counter attacks. Another sign of lack of defensive discipline or basically tactics.

I think what we see is our defenders dont know what to do really, they are confused where to go, when to go, when they step into the action, when to stay, when to move, when to join attacks, what to do with the ball if they get it.

Its a mess, and for sure Pelle is responsible for it. Form of Zaba and Kompany this year is mediocre compared to their best form at City.
Clichy solid since a few months, Kolarov pretty bad since August. Sagna also not very good even tho thought he is actually one of thebest RB of the league. Pelle's system somehow turned him into a pretty awful player which is unfair on him imo.
Mangala is nervous many times, also price tag maybe really puts pressure on him, big potential but nowhere near consistent enough.

I think defending is what will stop us advancing and reaching the real big stages of CL, quarter or semis at least. The way we defend in our basic formation/tactics cannot be played in Europe. We need to be more conservative there, less agressive and open, more patient etc.
Roma away was a good example.

But I think this years Barca is maybe a bit better than last years and even that didnt give us many chance to go trough to the quarters. Not mentioning that this years title rival Chelsea also lot more stronger/consistent than last years rival in Pool.

Klopp or Simeone will be managing City next season in my opinion.

Pellegrini is a decent manager and was the right man post-Mancini to sort our dressing room out, but he isn't a great manager and there will be better managers available in the summer.

50p says they won't in my opinion obviously

He disrespected the opposition with that back four, not necessarily the personnel as individually they are plenty good enough to repel Boro, its the fact, once again.......he has to rotate.....and chooses to play a unit that has no cohesion or understanding because of such.
Add that to Kompanys lack of fitness and form and it was a recipe for exactly what happened.

This tinkering has to stop, its a nonsense and its damaging us.

if its his choices who as been signed he really needs to start to give his head a wobble and start buying real quality, cos paying top notch for what we have so far have been shocking decisions

And yet 3 weeks ago Pellegrini was being hailed for clawing Chelsea back without any forwards

We've slipped up. There's no tactical pitfalls or great managerial cock up. I'd have made different subs, but the biggest reason we lost was because Aguero and Kompany are not properly fit, and Yaya and Nasri are out. That means the other players can't afford a bad game

I'd like Pellegrini to show a bit more faith in his forwards. It seem that he's just counting down the minutes until Bony returns, and when he does, Jovetic and Dzeko wont get a look in

I agree, which means the other squad players are not upto it,which most of us know, and has to be a mass clear out in the summer, including the management am afraid,if there is no silverware this season he be gone

for what its worth when i look at Pellers and how he sets u p the team he picks an 11 and says go and play, i have yet to see different tactics employed against different teams as a result we are far far to predicatble to play against to the point that now opposing teams now understand that the best tactics are to defend in numbers, mark out Silva and then break knowing full well that the majority of our lazy are bastards either cant or wont get back.

I also dont see a work effort or any sense of urgency its become tippy tappy slow shit which again is easy to defend against

For me if he goes then i wont be too upset truth is i wont be upset at all, his post match comments were the final nail in the coffin for me. Does he ever show any fucking emotion or just the slightest of being pissed off, Mouriniho will have turned that fuckin dressing room blue our lot might have got a stiff talking

To think that 18 months ago we sacked amanager because the players didnt like him because he shouted at them, now we have a nice one they are taking the piss

trying not too get too pissed off but seriously we will be getting a serious kicking against Barca and Chelski next week is a MUST NOT loose game, will Pellers change anything i seriously doubt it

From November 30 to December 28 we defended and attacked as a well balanced unit. Pellegrini made mention of it... we conceded very few goals. Pellegrini doesn't consciously say "leave it wide open for teams to bum us on the break", he expects players to perform the way they did in that month when we conceded only 3 goals in 7 games. Since the Burnley game though it's all gone to pieces again, the team doesn't have the same balance and rhythm and we're easy pickings.

Peaked last season. This guy is taking us nowhere. No faith in his tactics, substitutions, team selection or transfer dealings. We have turned into a team that cant defend and look lethargic and predictable going forward .We won two trophies last season despite having him as manager. Not because of.
