Totally out of his depth today .Only time will tell if it was just a bad day at the office or he is another in the long line of prodigies who can't step up .
Certainly had a 'mare today but Watford were all over our midfield in the first half. Hopefully he will learn that it's not always going to be as easy as it was at West Ham.City & Blue Brazil said:Totally out of his depth today .Only time will tell if it was just a bad day at the office or he is another in the long line of prodigies who can't step up .

That way they know they are getting the right coaching and keep a close eye on the player

At least you gave him plenty of time before starting to doubt him.City & Blue Brazil said:Totally out of his depth today .Only time will tell if it was just a bad day at the office or he is another in the long line of prodigies who can't step up .

Fair comment . But he was up against a championship club with injury problems . Would obviously be delighted if he is a fixture in the team 12 months from now . As a counter to a claim to be doubting him ,what about all the posts suggesting we had unearthed the new messi or at the very least comparing him favourably with the rags latest boy wonder ? It is too early to say which was really the point of the first post .
Fantastic! Hope he can slowly get more starts next season. The kid's brilliantBigOscar said:Got his first call up to the Portugal U21 squad. Very impressive for an 18 year old who plays in an area with the toughest competition. Hopefully he can get a run out

I think they tend to try and keep batches of similar age players together, with a fair few of last years U19s in that squad. He's one of only two or three to be getting his first call up for the U21s though, as he was a year or two younger than the rest of the U19 team. I think wiki might be a bit out of date, as there's a fair few 19 year olds in thereThe Fat el Hombre said:A quick wiki search shows that there's no players in the usual under 21 squad younger than 20 years old, Marcos turned 18 in December. Anyone know if they've called up a couple of younger players for this game? It's not a friendly and is a qualifier, with Portugal seemingly the best team in their group. Well done Marcos, hope he gets a run out
