Mark Halsey is....

Went to The Charity night @ Lanky CC Couple of years ago, what a great night it was Hes a really decent guy

... a brilliant self-publicist. When I publish my autobiography, I could only dream of this free press!

Seriously, been told many times about him drinking after Wembley. Isn't his wife a City fan?

Sadly for some on here, I know that about Fergie as well, bit of a champagne socialist but does some left-wing charity stuff.

One of the most likeable traits he has is his ability to blend in as one if the boys.
Every other word was fuck , twat , piss off and I like that.
He uses that industrial language on the pitch and I bet a lot of the players respect that.

I was fortunate enough to meet him that's how I will remember it.

Ahh yes. There's nothing I respect more in a person than the inability to speak a single sentence without a swear word in it. If he uses that language on the pitch then the players won't respect him, they'll be irritated by him.
Quite the reverse I think. I played salford Sunday leuage and we had a ref once who swore like a navy ,
called lads soft bastards and poncey nancy cissy bitches I've never forgot the fella ,big Fokker ex services ,it kind of set a tone ifUve played ,I think u will understand me

-- Sat Jan 12, 2013 5:28 pm --

When he was Co manager of Sottenvento in Farnnworth before his illness. I used to go there all the time. He had nothing but time for his customers, Always will to chat and talk football. For what he and his Wife have gone through i have nothing but respect
HERE HERE PAL

This season alone:

The penalty at Villa yesterday
The Stoke v Everton game where he failed to send off fellaini for the headbutt and seemed to lose control of the game.
Fulham v us. Blatant pens not given to us and gave them one for a dive outside the area.
Pool v Utd- One of the worst, biased ref performances ive ever seen.

Probably more incidents also but those are main ones i can remember

I've met him twice when he's been to Bredbury Blues - a top top bloke.

Some of his stories about putting players in their place BEFORE a game were funny - especially one where he told Ronaldo before one game "you will NOT get a penalty out of me today no matter how much you dive"

His declared allegiance is Queens Park Rangers - he does do a good job of hiding the City thing.
