The Mahrez-Kdb goal made me think of pairing certain players together whenever possible to get the best outcome.

For example, I think Foden pairs well with Sterling or Ferran so either on the left or right side that combo works.

Bernardo and Cancelo also for obvious reasons, could easily play on the right in place of Mahrez-Kdb combo or on the left also.

I think these "connections" some of the players have with each other should be utilized or fostered more often.

Brian Kerr on Irish TV saying that we didn't play particularly well.

Seen that, a bizarre analysis, he said we were still totally lacking up front and had no real creativity blah fucking blah! The 3 goals and complete domination were obviously an illusion!!

Not sure you were watching the same Gundogen as everyone else or the one that you have already made your mind up about?

I had the same thought. Very much reminded me of a DM match report, written before the match started down grading the same players and then filed before the final whistle.

Very enjoyable performance,we looked like a team again.The main reason was the extra energy and fluidity coming from the legs of Foden(MOTM) and Torres combined with a very assured and composed centre half partnership,which set the tone for the rest of the team.
Instead of the slow,predictable and lethargic football we have witnessed of late,we were much more forward thinking and direct and had a far better balance to our play.
I still can't warm to Gundogan,i see him as a spare part for much of our games.He is miles off the pace and bordering on useless in any sort of defensive role while,other than the occasional nice pass,going forward he doesn't offer anything particularly special either - in fact i genuinely believe he stifles our play.

I'm with you on Gundogan. Cannot compete physically with the top midfielders and therefore is poor defensively. When you look at the creativity of KDB and the killer passes he makes... when do you see that from Gundogan. He will have some OK games against teams we can totally dominate like tonight. But in the big games against top opposition the only midfielder we can rely on to produce that bit of magic and win us the game is KDB. Sadly I honestly don't think we will win the crucial knockout games in the CL with both Rodri and Gundogan in the team...we will not quite have enough to overcome the top teams. I really hope I am wrong about this though... haha!!!.

He isn't good enough in either defence or attack,he's bang average at both and if you combine that with his less than athletic frame......he isn't anywhere near the right quality.

This away win ain't feels right. At all. We are at least 100 pages shy of a good bluemoan thread.

Who the fuck does Gündogan think he is? He should never score. And that Rodri with pace. Also Raheem and Mahrez FFS. Even Stones. They should not been doing this. Not controlling the game from the ko, nor play one-twos to split the Marseilleise defence for that 3rd goal, nor pass that thru the needle eye to Phil for our 2nd. They made the french side look pedestrian, this is outrageous. And how do they dare keeping a fucking clean sheet? No way Josep.

FFS Mahrez never play again for my club, hate your one-twos with KdB; and never want to see again that Gundo-Rodri midfield, nor Foden on the left wing. Walker-Rúben-Laporte snuffing and smothering every opposition goal intention, unacceptable.

I blame the board and management. Hire ten galácticos on the next window or face the sacking.

Solid performance and no injuries ( I hope ) couldn't be much better and well done to Pep and the team.

Thrill for Palmer to get some minutes on a big Euro stage.

Now lets hope we can get back on the rails in the Premiership.

Best thing I can say about it is that I’m looking forward to a Saturday match again now having seen that performance.
