Marseille (a) post match thread

Brian Kerr on Irish TV saying that we didn't play particularly well.
Did he say Liverpool dominated at home by scoring 2 against Midgettown?!

I never let any game analysis by journos bother me. Most City fans have better game analysis skills than most journos, plus we aren’t trying to please our editors with clickbait!

Very enjoyable performance,we looked like a team again. The main reason was the extra energy and fluidity coming from the legs of Foden(MOTM) and Torres combined with a very assured and composed centre half partnership, which set the tone for the rest of the team.
Instead of the slow, predictable and lethargic football we have witnessed of late,we were much more forward thinking and direct and had a far better balance to our play.
I still can't warm to Gundogan,i see him as a spare part for much of our games. He is miles off the pace and bordering on useless in any sort of defensive role while, other than the occasional nice pass, going forward he doesn't offer anything particularly special either - in fact i genuinely believe he stifles our play.

Deary me what are you on about !?

Foden was brilliant out on the left today. First time it felt like the 2017/18 with the classic wingers. Bernardo in the center in David's old position
Agreed but we actually played that way at Watford and Sterling was really good as he was able to use his pace properly. Next game however it was back to inverted wingers and it all slowed down again.

That more like it!! Best performance of the season!
Shout out to Gundogan thought he was very good!
dias looks just what we have been crying out for a absolute beast and cool as fuck, him and Laporte have serious potential as a pair.
Foden unreal, I can’t think of many 20 year olds who have been better at the age and he has to start every week for me.
Sterling still can’t control a football.

very good from start to finish against a team that had no interest in going forwards. Well done blues

Much better performance. We've more balance with Zinchenko and Foden on the left, and it also stretches play much more than when we have two right-footed players out there. The base of the team looks solid, but we do lack that little bit of magic in the middle between the midfield/forwards (ala Silva). There are times when I sense that rather than recycle the ball we'd actually be better giving it to the opposition defenders and pressing them as they're more likely to create a chance for us.
