I'm getting really confused. I thought "The New Statesman" was named after St Marcus Rashford.

Has he changed his name from Alan B'Stard?

The New Statesman has a circulation of 36,000 per issue. Hardly a left leaning rag that ordinary match going fans subscribe to, apart from European Royalty down the road.

As an impeccably socialist club and group of fans, I'm sure they'll make up the majority of the 36,000.

Sickly sweet story on Granada reports tonight little boy in a rag jersey doing a sponsored walk from his school to OT to raise money for a new school playground. The best they could find to accompany him was aged former City legend ( ha ha ) Sammy Mc Ilroy. Where's St Marcus of Rashford when you need him.

Sammy McIlroy was a member of my gym in Warrington. Really nice bloke, always has a tale or two to tell. Given he’s worn both red & blue shirts, he’s very open about how good we are compared to the Rags and he still gets the odd Legends gig at OT.

Actually, I am not sure. I just assumed they became effective when the rules were agreed. Guess I'm not on the ball either :)
