Can anyone confirm that Neville did actually say what is claimed about our sponsorships? All I can see is other idiots quoting him online without any links to his musings.

I think it’s quoted on the overlap but don’t want to watch to find it.

Whos this dipstick

Isn't this a 1970s view of sponsorship?

Isn't it more to do with global brand awareness, these days? You think Standard Chartered want a load of scallies to open accounts with them? You think TeamViewer are expecting United fans in Asia to start installing their software?

No, they want exposure for their brand to all football fans all over the world and that means as much exposure as you can get. More matches on TV, further in competitions, winning trophies. You know the way to judge that? Not on the number of Twitter followers or "fans" or history, but on current broadcast income. More games, more success equals more broadcast income.

Look at the ratio of our commercial income to broadcast income compared to other clubs and you will see it is understated, not overstated. Liverpool are also understated. United, Real and Barcelona are bang in the median.

Bayern and PSG on the other hand ....

Neville should bin Carragher off as his side kick and go into partnership with Simon Jordan as the new 'go to' guys for media discussions on the intricacies of football finances. It'd be a meeting of minds albeit, very empty ones! I still live in the hope that once, if it ever is, the PL inquiry is concluded that the people at City will issue several 'warnings' that make it clear that they will no longer tolerate any further unsubstantiated speculation with regard to the legitimacy of our finances.
You should sell that idea to talkshite. They'd pay you well for that.

Getting a public apology from Neville for his false claims would be positive for City's reputation. He is a high-profile person who wants to enter politics. He hasn't got a leg to stand on (if his comments have been reported accurately). This is different to the daily tittle-tattle we see from freelances and fan websites on Twitter. He is exactly the sort of person we should be going after. If we ignore it people will think his comments are true and we have something to hide.
we should bide our time wait for sky's biggest game of the season the refuse rat boy and spitty entry to the ground until truth is told this would leave flabby chops tlyer waffling on alone

Quite right. It is about future exposure, particularly on tv. And who gets more exposure than anyone on US tv? Yep, lil' ol' Ciddy..

A couple more things about Neville.

No need to sue, he just shows a poor understanding of business and sponsorship. Listen to him about football and ignore the rest.

If he ever did run for Mayor, he would be sucking up to the UAE and Mansour for investment so much without any hint of hypocrisy.

The guys in charge of the club are 100 times the businessmen and politicians than he will ever be. If they are happy to let him go on about stuff he doesn't understand, then so am I.

Talk United Shite this morning.

Discussing Neville's 5 point United plan.

Jim Shite and the failed Cockney football club owner go through each point.

During one of the points the failed club owner mentions sport washing, human rights, a middle eastern country buying a football club, pumping money into the club, etc. The failed football club owner didn't name the club. ;-)

Fuck Gary Neville the rag twat.

The PSG President shares his view on the different types of football club ownership. It pretty much sums up how i see HRH's ownership of us.

"Al-Khelaifi is chairman of Qatar Sports Investments, which has bankrolled PSG since 2011 and has been accused of 'sportswashing'.

Questions have been raised in England about club ownership, particularly since Newcastle was taken over by an investment group bankrolled by Saudi Arabia.

Al-Khelaifi says the investment provided by his group has benefitted football by filtering through the "eco-system", while also questioning the business models of other clubs.

"Imagine there was no investment over the past few years. Football would have collapsed, I promise you," he said.

"We are an investment fund. We bought the club for 70m euros. We have since received offers in the multi-billions.

"This is the brand we built as a real investment - across men's and women's teams. People criticise because it is sovereign wealth.

"What about other forms of ownership - is the private equity takeover of sport about social good? What about clubs leveraged to the sky by private individuals - is that good? Barcelona is a fan-owned club with €1.5bn debt - does that work?

"Our investment in PSG also doesn't just help one club. Imagine PSG were not in the French League. Where would the league find an investment fund to invest €1.5bn, which goes to the small clubs to invest?

"When you look at the full picture of what we are doing, it has raised the level."

Manchester House Washing

Gary Neville is a very slow property developer concentrating mainly on Manchester city centre, having taken 14 years to get part of the St Michael's proposal off the ground, etc.

MCC and Manchester Life have been working together for many years to deliver housing in Manchester. (city centre) Especially around Ancoats, New Islington, and East Manchester. More so than Gary Neveille ever has, and ever will do

Manchester Life is owned by.......

The Abu Dhabi United Group came to Manchester in 2008 to invest in and regenerate Manchester City Football Club, with the ambition to create a successful and sustainable football club with a world-class infrastructure.

The acquisition of Manchester City Football Club was the start of a major new phase of regeneration in Eastlands, East Manchester, with the long-term goal to transform the 200 acres immediately surrounding the Etihad Stadium. This led to the formation of a partnership between the Abu Dhabi United Group and Manchester City Council, which went on to deliver the facilities around the Etihad Campus, and in doing so, lift the wider area.

Manchester Life Development Company (UK Company number 08800093) is wholly-owned by Manchester City Council and the Abu Dhabi United Group (Loom Holdings), which is a private investment and development company owned by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Who are Manchester Life?

We are a unique partnership between Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG) and Manchester City Council (MCC).

Manchester Life was established at the request of MCC to respond to the lack of well-managed private rented sector homes in the City. The market was not responding fast enough to the dynamics of Manchester’s growth and demographic change.

Manchester Life operates as an investor, developer, placemaker and landlord to support the city’s housing priorities, including the transformation of two emerging neighbourhoods in East Manchester in need of significant regeneration.

Our mission is to write the next chapter in Ancoats’ history by helping to turn once thriving, industrial areas into beautiful, buzzing residential neighbourhoods.

Totally agree and maybe if we take Neville on with this win it will shut a few up in the Media.

When we as a club let so much go in the media those lies will keep coming they’ll keep pushing more lies.

We will do nothing as per usual.
Have you ever thought that the hierarchy at the club don’t actually give a shit what the likes of Neville or no nowt journos write or say when we are as successful as they are, it’s probably water of a ducks back to them

I would wager that in terms of increasing awareness of their brand through sponsorship, there are few if any companies in the world that will have done better than Etihad over the last decade

Yes I have and come to conclusion they don’t give a fcuk because they look at the long game as they have done since day one.
