Maybe his next idea will be a North & South conference Premier league.
Winning the conferences is minor compared to getting to the conference playoffs and then the big one, the Superball playing for the America’s cup trophy, which will be played in stadia across the world (to the highest bidder of course).
Oh and a reduction in the number of teams in the conferences, there’s only so much pie to share!
Plus no relegation/promotion, keeps the money rolling in without risk, of course.
And the teams names, they really are bad, need changing up to something more dynamic…
The Newcastle Coalers
The Trafford History
The Manchester Mansoors
The striking docks
The Attacking Armoury
The Chelsea tractors
The super villains
The Harry Kanes, sorry, the Hurricane hotspurs

Why are we forced to pay for such nonce sympathising incompetence?

"Impeccable"

I only watched the start of the game but the commentator did say the silence (all ten seconds of it) was impeccably observed by “most but not all” fans. That clip is just a handful of knobheads and you can hear others trying to shush them. Wouldn’t be surprised if we get one or two ourselves, dickheads struggle to keep their traps shut usually.

I was listening on 5 live and you could tell they had turned the microphones off during it. Then at the end the commentator commended them, saying “one or at the most two” not observing. It wasn’t thousands but it wasn’t fucking two

Funny how BT were bigging up the job the new Ajax boss has done, just in case the scousers get pegged back. Be a different narrative for our game tomorrow, plucky underdogs Borussia Dortmund and how they do it properly.
One of those occasions where being at the ground avoids any of the shite BT might conjure up, and they will.

The anti-City drive from the entire English media is palpable.

I have never been a fan of a minute's silence, mainly because fans arrive on the concourse late singing unaware there's a minute's silence going on.

This isn't the case during last night's observation. I wouldn't normally care but Liverpool are some what protective over their own enforced minute silences...

It reminded me a bit of the City end at Anfield in January 1994 when the silence was held for Matt Busby. It wasn't a majority then, either, but in the Sunday press we got quite a lot of stick for the disruption by a vocal minority. The dippers observed it pretty well, as I recall on that occasion and booed us afterwards.

I personally thought the criticism of our fans that day was deserved. It's quite remarkable, though, how there's a desire to brush it under the carpet on this occasion when Liverpool fans are at fault. Considering it was broadcast live, the media outlets pushing this take can only be said to be trying to gaslight us.

I also note that The Athletic is one of them. In a brief piece entitled 'Liverpool, EFL clubs pay respect to Queen Elizabeth II with minute’s silence,' readers are informed as follows:

Jurgen Klopp had called on supporters to show “the right respect” during the minute’s silence and the tribute was respectfully observed inside Anfield with minimal disruption

If they consider that disruption "minimal", they're being very generous. We all know that if similar had happened at the Etihad, we'd be absolutely hammered for it.

Still, that's The Athletic yet again showing its true colours. I initially subscribed at half price and am currently in a second extension, for both of which I paid a discounted GBP 1 per month. But I won't extend again when my current subscription ends in about four months, even if they tell me I can do so for free.

Given how in the past 24 hours the term 'a moment's silence' has begun to have currency within our tabloid and broadcast media, I look forward to next Monday when I can join with the rest of the nation in commemorating the life of our sadly deceased Queen and observe 'a moment's silence' whenever Huw Edwards or Jim Naughtie or David Dimbleby use this new term, informing us it's that time to do so..

Of course, I for one promise that I shall dedicate the thirty seconds or so that I've gained with the reduction from 'a minute's silence' to 'a moment's silence' to doing something worthwhile such as charitable work on behalf of one of the many good causes supported by Her Maj down the years..

Surely the Dippers won’t be insisting on any more than 24 seconds for any of their moments of silence.

Justice for the 39. Plus the 600+ more that the feral cunts injured. Always been cunts, and always indulged by our pathetic media. Thank fuck they never do anything seriously bad like throwing paper aeroplanes, chanting You’re Not Incredible, or heaven forbid turning up 7 seconds late for the second half
