I see Miggy is doing a Sam Lee & we’ve just misunderstood his article. You’ve got to feel for these professional writers, it can’t be easy, it’s not as if it’s not the sole purpose of their trade.

Anyway apparently the chasm was based on football ability & not financial & he didn’t even realise he’d written “financial disparity.”

So everyone read his article and interpreted it as being about financial disparity.

Even his own sub editor read it and thought it was about financial disparity.

He’s so far down the rabbit hole he’s lost all perspective on the words he writes, to the extent he’s basically just dog whistled his own newspaper.

Truly bizarre.

We often criticise BT Sport’s coverage of City in Europe, but just watching the game back and tbf the commentator (Darren Fletcher) seems to be genuinely enthusiastically celebrating our goals. Shouldn’t really be noteworthy, but this is where we are.
Have to disagree. I rarely watch the pre-game but decided to have a go last night. Soon realised why when it was all about Bayern and Tuchel, with their ghosts of Christmas past mantra.

Good job we scored then cos he had a full stonk on for Bayern in everything else

I actually think BT commentary isn't too bad for City, including tonight (barring the 'Manchester United defender Manuel Akanji' comment).

That was a bit jarring 6 minutes in. Fletcher is better than Darke, and can be very good.

I thought the interview with Mario Gomez pre-match was a good one too. Gomez came across as quite a decent bloke.

Hmm, he said "Silva couldn't miss", and "that's easy for Haaland", as if they were both 1 yard tap-ins rather than great finishes, so, damning with faint praise was what I came away with...
Due to our fantastic approach play and then the subsequent inch perfect crosses both of those players received for their goals the observation was spot on. If he had said the same for Rodri's goal you may have had a point but in reality he said something along the lines of him having no right to score from there and it being a finish De Bruyne would have been proud of .

David Hytner did our match report in the Guardian.

None of the pearl clutching histrionics from the likes of Jackson and Delaney, he always reports on our games in a fair unbiased way. That's all we ask for.

Paradise is still sat in a dark room somewhere trying to work out how to put a negative spin on the performance.

Bernardo could well have missed and nearly did, Sommer (****) got two hands on it somehow and if Bernardo hadn't connected absolutely beautifully with that header and got as much force behind it as he did, it wasn't going in.
Haaland's goal, mid air with his weaker foot, was a far harder finish than he'll be given credit for.

And there was me thinking one of the pre-requisites of landing a role writing for news outlets, would be the ability to communicate..............

If you look for bias in that minutest of detail you are sure to find it so carry on.

Looks like the fail gets their stories from here. Some bloke jokes about getting in his head and lo and behold it’s headlines
‘Fan screams 'O CANADA' at Bayern Munich left back Alphonso Davies’
https://mol.im/a/11962791
Is that newsworthy?

I actually heard it on the commentary on RTE but assumed I had mis-heard it.

Turns out I didn't........... :-)

Is he still billed as the Manchester football correspondent?

I heard him last apart from Dias ripping him a new one on talkragshite a few years ago when I mad enough to listen and I think it was when the rags & us had midweek CL games.

He talked without a pause about how wonderful the rags were, going the right way, almost back to former glory, name checked lots of players etc then after what seemed forever spent very little time just errr errr errr City errr errr errr, couldn't actually find anything to say about us.

Must admit I was laughing my bollocks off at the state of his presentation, unwillingness to praise us and/or lack of knowledge.

No doubt you read on here Paradise.....read this, you are a waster and a bitter shithouse.

I’m away with work this week and I watched the game on BT Sport last night. Lucy Ward was abysmal throughout the match. Even to the point where she said that “Bayern will definitely score against City tonight”. Constantly cheering Bayern on. Gave us zero credit all night….
Just watched it back on BT. Deeper voice and she could have been mistaken for Martin Keown.

Jamie Jackass wasn't allowed to write the report tonight.
Instead he wrote some ratings. They're quite something, as in barely worth the minimal effort he obviously put in.
Dias - (7) Near faultless???

Ha, ha, ha... Twat.

Ruben clearly rattled him at the presser. What a f*cking cabbage.

I can't take anyone seriously that complains about the commentary being biased against us

When we play a foreign team in the Champions League, the commentators are basically cheering us on, and rightly so. Last night was no different

On the other hand, the pre-match stuff was all Bayern and Hargreaves gave them too much credit after the game as well

Made the mistake going to the guardian. Ronay’s piece on Bernardo seems v complimentary on the surface but littered with unnecessary snide jibes about his physical appearance. Didn’t make it to the end, maybe it improved.
