You don't think the Premier League actually want this shit with City, I certainly don't.

The lobbying from a powerful collection of clubs who want their ball back and using their 'status' to put the executive between a rock and a hard place.
The thing is though didn’t multiple applicants to Scudamore’s replacement reject the job offer because they were being asked to favour the red clubs (and were only interviewed by reps of United and Liverpool)?

IF that was the case then the PL is at fault for not remaining unbiased.

They are in a difficult position but didn’t they put themselves there?

Ogden has a similar narrative on ESPN. If we’re found guilty of any of the charges we’re effectively the Lance Armstrong of the footballing world.
I doubt some of the charges would make the narrative any worse than it already is given we’ve been found innocent once by a genuine legal court rather than an Arsenal fan and a couple of muppets.

I don’t believe they do, and neither does the government, the narrative is damaging to one of the country’s biggest exports, it’s also damaging to relationships with the Gulf, I can imagine lots of pressure to get this sorted and out of the way

Common sense tells me this is the most likely scenario, and ironically, the way it’s being reported will probably speed that process up.

Common sense you say? ;-)

Anyone would thing we were bribing referees rather than investing our own money….see Juve and Barca.

Ask most fans what they think we have done wrong and they have no idea.

Which is the Arsenal fan? It's difficult to tell.

This is just lies, plain and simple. Jonathan Liew surely cannot actually believe this.

This perfect fodder for the person who says they didn’t watch because they aren’t interested in City when in fact they didn’t watch because the team they follow to make themselves feel good about themselves aren’t doing too well. They can now go to the office and quote this line rather than call in sick. It’s in the paper, it must be true.

While I can agree with the sentiment, I find it hard to see what power the red clubs hold over the PL at the moment.

At the time the investigation was started, there may have been the threat of the ESL, but that is dead in the water now. I liken the PL weakness to the same weakness Platini showed with FFP in the face of the same threat, and look at what a shambles that turned out to be. I expect this investigation to turn into a shambles at some point for the same reason.

What the PL should have done, if they were stronger, was wait until the UEFA investigation was finished then build anything else they had on top of whatever was successful there. But as we know, there was nothing successful.

Right now? I don't see any reason why the PL couldn't have just said: we investigated and were happy with the responses we received. Why does the PL think it needs this drama and why the continued weakness?

Exactly. Liew knows what he’s doing. He might be a **** but he’s discernibly smarter than Delaney.

If they want to use that narrative and analogy, are they also suggesting the authorities (amongst others) are complicit in covering up any of our alleged breaches or wrongdoing ?
