The press are all about making headlines, they are well-aware that the vast majority of their readership are not City fans, so of course they will try to retain their employers’ faith by writing stuff that makes the readers feel good. I live in Bournemouth now so I rarely get to City games, and rely almost entirely on TV to watch my lifelong heroes, but straight after the match finished on Saturday, fireworks were going off in several places, just after the trophy was lifted. This doesn’t usually happen in Bournemouth except during the summer school holidays, November 5th or New Year. Yesterday one of my grandsons was playing in a six a side football tournament, and I was surprised but delighted to see several City shirts among the spectators, even Jack Grealish with a 10 on his back had miraculously made it back from Istanbul hours before the plane had landed. City shirts around here now seem more prevalent than our red rivals, and in the old days it used to be mainly Spuds or Chelsea. The times, they are a-changing.
