Bayern were supposed to be signing Garay for £12m the other day, though that's gone quiet.
I think, maybe BigOscar could say, that Madrid are due half of any transfer fee for Garay so they may be holding out for his release clause fee to get the most they could; again i think, it's €20m.

Maybe a bit risky if he's in the last year of his deal but at that price he'd surely be worth a shot?

They do only get 50%, so have explored more "innovative" transfers, but I think there is a resignation that he's leaving for 15mE now, but it's getting confusing as to where. Bayern still looks the most nailed on, after lots of confusing stuff with Zenit. Still have no idea why there isn't an absolute free for all over him at the price he's going

EXCLUSIVE: Manchester City have bid this morning 38m € for Roma's Benatia

Finally...but will Roma sell for that much? Hopefully......

Painful to see us offering three times as much as he cost only a year ago, but hopefully this isn't a big mistake. Not a fan of Serie A at all, so £31m for a 27 year old with no experience anywhere else seems like a huge risk. Very nervous about this one, hopefully he proves me wrong

May well be true, but don't get your hopes up.

Tancredi Palmeri comes out with SO MUCH rubbish.

From what I have seen and heard this lad does look the real deal. However so do Managala, Matip, Godin, Pepe, Garay and a couple of others that have been mentioned.

So; do we think the price is about right, a bargain or a bit steep ?

The best thing about Benatia, apart from his obvious comparisons with Kompany, is that he is 27 and Kompany is 28. they are in their prime, if he really lives up to expectation then we have Center back sorted for at least 5 years. It also means that our youngsters like Rekik and Denayor can gradually be incorporated in the first team and should be ready to take over when they are 23-24. And, since he will probably leave for AFCON, it will give some PL time to our young defenders.

I know but he was speaking about this on the radio but didn't understand Italian though. But he did mention City and Benatia. Probably about City submitting a bid. You might be right though that he can be wrong and it's all rubbish, who knows. But I still come back to the situation of how confident our chairman is and that we've got all our targets sorted.

While I always have my doubts with Tancredi, I'd be happy if it's true as it'd mean we aren't effing about trying to fill a priority position. If we do, we could be scrambling to sign our 5th or 6th choice later this summer.

To be honest Serie A -> England transfers have so often failed, but Nastasic didn't (and Jovetic looks like he'll be great when he gets a sustained run) and we employ one of the best scouting teams around now so I'm sure they have taken everything into account.

How reliable is Tancredi? He seems to talk as though he is ITK at all the clubs in Europe but he clearly isn't, but at the same time he must have some genuine contacts.

Tancredi, employed by beIN Sports and contributor to CNN and Gazzetta, for some reason feels the need to make up transfer rumours. Surely a sufferer of narcissistic personality disorder...
