Not being funny but why would you expect the tram not to be rammed if you try getting on the stop after the stadium just after the game.

if they didn't put a tram which was out of service, there would of been 3 trams and im sure it would have been ok, plus it is better getting that 1 then walking around the ground to the campus 1.

I saw the out of service one I think. The double tram? I think that went to the next stop it could change lines in order to go back into town. Granted there were enough people on on side to worry about but if you want to make sure you get on the first tram you can it might be worth the extra walk to the campus stop m

The tram to the game from Altrincham was a nightmare today . We managed to get to Old Trafford then we had to bus it in, it wouldn't have been so bad had they had a few buses waiting . Coming home there was someone doing a survey for the metro link at the ground and yes I told them how bad their service was ! ;o)

awful service today. ..

about 150 fans waiting in the rain for over 20 mins. i certainly wont be using it again

getting worse and worse, having trouble getting on at piccadilly gardens, when they do turn up they are single trams which you cant get on or double trams running about not in service, really need to sort it out, everybody complaining, one poor chap had been waiting 42 mins to try and get on one

As the Altrincham and Eccles trams stop in Piccadilly Gardens why not walk back to Market Street to jump the queue, or if your on an Altrincham to Bury service stay on to Shudehill or Victoria and pick up the Ashton service their. Made the usual journey in today from Prestwich and at Victoria there was loads of space when the shoppers got off. It's a 12 minute service and they run extras to Victoria to get us away from the ground and reduce he congestion, getting their before the match is less predictable, so waiting 42 minutes! why would you it's only a fifteen minute walk and if the the queue is so big get 3 other blues and get a cab, cheaper than the tram, cheaper than the bus.

I used the tram today from Radcliffe with two kids. Had a seat all the way. After the game waited probably twenty minutes but not a huge issue. Trams were there every few minutes and got a seat back into town. I would definitely use them again.

It was the other way that was the problem.

5 trams to mcr, while we were waiting for 1 to ashton

Fucking awful today, was waiting for the tram for roughly 20mins or so! Never been so pissed off in my life!

We come from 40 miles away and started using the tram instead of parking at the ground this season. To start with it worked very well, there were regular double-tram Etihad Campus specials coming into Piccadilly Gardens. Over the winter it has just got worse and worse. Every Ashton tram that comes in is rammed, there are regular trams coming in that terminate at Piccadilly station so hundreds of people pile out to wait for an Etihad tram. We may have just been unlucky but I have seen an empty "Special" for about 3 months although Metrolink still claim to be running them - I have not even seen one announced as on the way on the electronic board. We arrive at the tram about an hour before kick off so it's not as though we are leaving it to the last moment. .

We are in our 60's now and are finding it really unpleasant. I am seriously thinking of giving up the Season Tickets at the end of the season if things don't improve and just watch it on the telly. I am surprised that the club don't get involved and try and sort it out, how hard can it be to run a decent service for that 60 minutes before and after each game once a fortnight. It's not as though they can't anticipate the demand. Is anyone aware of Metrolink ever given any reasons why the service is so poor?

The service heading to Ashton for the last few weeks is awful. I'm going back to driving to the games. I live in Droylsden and thought it would be a godsend as I could have pint or two at the game but it's not worth the fuss.

I complained to Metrolink a few weeks ago and got a big standard reply. Basically they don't give a shit. Just think when the stadium is extended and more fans are using the service.
