Micah Richards (2014/15)

Re: Micah Richards

Zab is the best right back in the world, Richards needs to knuckle down, lose some muscle bulk and improve his mind-set. Still a great player, but we have moved up a gear or two. He either comes along for the ride or as he indicates, seeks another club where he is number one.

Name 5 as good as or better then and not just attack-minded failed wingers like that curly haired goblin over at the swamp.
The only 2 I'd put near him are Lukas Pisczek of Borussia Dortmund and Phillip Lahm of Bayern Munich, they're the only two who are as effective defensively and offensively as Zaba and only Lahm imo could be classed as better.

Dani Alves
Lahm (you said)
Sergio Ramos( changed position lately though)
Van der wiel

Having said that though I would rather have him and Richards over any of them. Both love the club and play with heart

Dani Alves can no longer command a starting position at barca and has never been able to defend, he's in the failed winger category for me, Van der Wiel? impressed in the dutch league and has had a couple of decent games for PSG recently but he's as much in the top 5 full backs in the world as Januzaj is, I'll accept Ramos, but Zaba is still easily in the top 5 for me

Re: Micah Richards

What was it Rat boy said..one of the best in europe.

What was'nt picked up on enough with Micah and seems to still be a problem all these yrs later is....even when he was in his pomp with them few games early doors into his career, he was ultimately doing big showy sprints to put a last ditch saving tackle in....great for the 'seen' but it's very akin to making 75ft putts....they look well brill but when thy're having to be made just to acheive parr it kinda suggests that something is well out of plumb and if it is'nt it soon will be.

I've never been a believer in everyone waxing on about Micah's strength, he ain't got the strength for an emergency stop....he's got plenty of power, it's why he's good at straight line capers.

Alves has played every game this season and is a very good defender but they may just be because of the pressing game they used to play, calling Alves a failed winger is criminal when you look at what he has achieved in football

Like playing on the wing for Brazil cause they don't trust him at right back? Right put him in, but Van der Wiel has achieved absolutely nothing, still you've got Lahm, Ramos (now a centre half) and Alves....that's 3 mate, you're not putting Zabaleta out of any top 5s here :D

if that's the uefa shortlist, any team with ivanovic and luiz on it doesn't deserve any credence, and (from last season) zaba deserves a place on it far more than yaya or kun.
