Middle East Conflict

Weird but true mate, funnily enough there would be some of the rampant socialists that would vote for Cameron before Sir Kier.
I find Starmer’s stance pretty insidious as it amounts to fcuk the hostages. A ceasefire is needed to free as many of the hostages that can be saved, as well as getting humanitarian aid into Gaza.

The current definition of anti-Semitism, as per a quick Google search, is this:

"Hostility to or prejudice against Jewish people."

Now admittedly, I haven't scoured the entire thread so feel free to enlighten, but has anybody on this forum showed hostility or prejudice towards the Jewish people? And as a heads up, vilifying the IDF, Netanyahu and by extension the Israeli state for their current crimes against humanity is not anti-Semitism. In the same way I'm not an Islamophobe for vilifying the theocratic practices of the Iranian state towards women.

So, anyone? Just one example?

Only exception has been for the thieving settlers and the murdering ones. As I've said numerous times there's been several posters who have gone after Palestinian people, Not only Hamas but actually the ones with no life in the world's biggest open air prison.

One or two posters have regularly said that the Jewish people do not have a right to their own country and should move to other countries. You might not think that’s antisemitic but most Jews do.

Criticism of Netanyahu and his government is perfectly legitimate and you won’t find any argument from me if that’s what you want to do as I’ve done it myself on numerous occasions.

I haven't seen such posts, but that could be construed as anti-Semitism, yes. The definition itself is prone to the vagaries of context; they should have the right to their own homeland but then so should the Palestinians, given the historical legacy of the land? And both parties in this perpetual conflict should refrain from being the aggressor. As I've said on numerous occasions, a peaceful recognition of a joint-state is the only way out of this mess; and until such resolution arrives neither side can wield pejorative constructs as justification for their actions.

They have mostly been removed just leaving the less explicit ones questioning Israel’s right to exist.

Mask off….

He’s an opportunistic **** using Hamas’ atrocities as justification for his long term stance. I’ve long said that Hamas and Netanyahu’s government provide each other with cover for the atrocities they both perpetrate which allows them to cement their positions. Fortunately the democratic nature of Israel and Netanyahu’s clear failure to protect the population will hopefully mean that he will be gone following the next election. Sadly the Palestinians do not have that democratic option to rid themselves of Hamas and Israel’s actions are shoring up support for them in spite of the suffering they are enduring.

So lets get this straight. There was contact and shots were exchanged. HAMAS fled and left Israeli hostages behind. They could hear IDF forces close by and wanted to surrender to them. Having probably been aware that the IDF strip prisoners to "check they are not suicide bombers " they stripped to the waits and used something - probably one of their white shirts - and a stick to make a white flag which they waved as they blinked and moved out into the sunshine shouting in Hebrew - one would presume "don't shoot" - and the IDF gunned them down.

That is the fault of HAMAS it seems and the Israeli Govt wash their hands of the whole thing.
