I see the the terrorist state is at it again.
"Iran's supreme leader on Saturday threatened Israel and the U.S. with “a crushing response” over attacks on Iran and its allies."
This is the terrorist state that sent 300 ballistic missiles into Israel, not in defence, as Israel hadn't attacked them, but in support of terrorists groups. Then said peace is the only way.
Israel responded in kind, and now Iran wants another go. And then will probably claim they want peace again.
Iran started this latest salvo by choice. If it kicks off big style, they started it.
Have the hostages been released yet...thought not.
"They started it." Really?
Every day men, women and kids are slaughtered by Benjamin Netanyahu on an industrial scale. An industrial scale! Every killing machine he can find is used. Not by him though: he stays well away from the action, appearing only on TV in his nice $5,000 suit and his crisp white shirt. Ever the strongman, always the coward.
If he'd really wanted to free the hostages he could have done it. Possibly in another way, almost certainly not this one. The families of the hostages lost patience with Netanyahu some time ago, believing he had abandoned them. But it seems clear that this is about something bigger now; only the deluded would think otherwise.
The Guardian reported yesterday that the suspicion is: "the Netanyahu government’s ultimate war aims include territorial expansion." It's neither a new idea nor a new suspicion. Few would suspend their belief. After all, most wars are about territory, so why would this one
really be about anything different, if you could call carpet-bombing mainly defenceless civilians a "war."
Netanyahu's scorched earth policy has ensured that most of Gaza is gone now; only wretched, starving people are left amidst the smell of the dead. So when will the cruelty end? When will enough be enough to sate his appetite for attrition? The death toll has already passed 50,000. So will 100,000 do it? Or 500,000? Or will one million do the trick?
He won't say as his horrific war of attrition grinds relentlessly on, presumably until what remains of Gaza and the people in it are no more. US and UN pleas alike are ignored. Perversely the former arms him while the latter's operatives in the field are shot at. Because in this so-called "war" nobody is safe.
Another Jewish man wrote a song called Masters Of War; a little over 60 years later every line can be applied to Netanyahu. Every single one. Because only the names change. I suggest you listen to it. But I suspect you won't.
Both Dylan and Benjamin Netanyahu are guaranteed their places in history; but for one of them it won't be for the reason he, nor anyone else for that matter, would have wanted to be remembered.
But yeah, like you said: "They started it." It could have been Netanyahu speaking.
