Why have Villa said that he can leave only if Manchester City raise their offer above the £20m + they had put on the table previoulsy.
I would have thought that they would say he could leave to join another club the fee was right. Why are they stipulating us? Is nobody else prepared to pay over £20m for him - if that's the case shouldn't it tell us something about his true value? Perhaps Milner only wants to come to City? He might not fancy one of the London clubs, doesn't want to go to a club that may be in too much debt to pay his wages soon and only really fancies playing for us? That'd be nice if that was the case - it's City or no-one.
Please don't let us been seen as mugs who will pay over the odds for any half decent player. Maybe this will give us a chance to show other clubs that we will not be paying whatever they ask. If Villa stick to the ridiculous valuation they have put on Milner they could be left with egg on their face and stuck with a player that made it clear he doesn't want to stay.
Lets see!
