i dont mean 2 be funny but after watching the way he was bullied and outclassed by vieira in the game at eastlands im really not overly excited by this signing.
an average footballer with a good workrate and good movement but nothing particularly special.
the way 2 develop is 2 stay a step ahead so now we are in the europa league we should be looking at champions league quality players. milner is a europa league player.

but the reality is we are in the Europa league!

oh and 48 successful passes and only 8 unsuccessful says he was not bullied.

Re: city make milner bid (SSN)

i know he plays in central midfield but could city be buying him for left wing if bellamy goes spurs ?. He crosses well and scores goals i no we are chasing di maria but maybe milner 2nd choice does anyone agree ?

I think his ability to play in the middle or on either wing as well as a full back if needed makes him highly valuable. He could effectively play wherever we need him.
He's best on the left wing IMO

villa paid 12m and hes just made himself young player of the year after a brilliant seasons

so hes worth 15m at the absolute least

then add 5 m for him being young and british

then add 5 m for it being us

25m is fine

finally some logic I understand.

Re: city make milner bid (SSN)

he'd be a good acquisition IMO, he's proved with villa and also engalnd, he can play in a variety of positions and do a decent job, just the type of player you want in the squad for injuries and formation changes and such.
as for the price, well now city have money, other clubs are going to haggle for as much as they can get form us, more than likely now you'll see us having to pay over the odds for most players. just the way it goes.

Re: city make milner bid (SSN)

I don't know what to make of this. He's not really the creative force we need and I doubt he can do anything Ireland couldnt. This would be a typical Hughes signing which will make us a solid team but not good enough to challenge for the title. We should be looking at players like Hamsik, Pjanic, Hazard etc.

Re: city make milner bid (SSN)

Aston Villa forum is cracking me up.

They are indignant that the game is now about money, acting like they didn't just buy this guy 2 years ago for 15 million from Newcastle.
