Hello.

Villa fan here.

Interesting times ahead with the Milner talk.

I can see you guys possibly signing him this week or maybe the week after.

I think £25m and we'll accept.

Milner is a good player, he always gives 110% and can score the odd vital goal.

I tell you what you will find out though (imo) he's not as fast as people think he is, he's got more stamina than pace. He very rarely beats a player when playing wide, even though he's played a lot of his game out wide. He also hits lots of his crosses into the first defender, most of the time the one challenging him. Can be very frustrating, but his 110% work rate will win the crowd over.

I'll keep an eye on his progress as I do believe he'll be gone in the next fortnight.

Any players you'd like to offer us to sweeten up the deal? I think possibly you could offer us Barry back. No thanks, I trust we've already had the best out of the guy.

Cheers.

nice to see posters giving players the chance, if we sign him there will be loads talking him up, we need a lad like him, we need players like milner away, when your one nill down, and you need fighters with a bit of guile.

Sorry, cant agree that he is that player.
We need someone to unlock a defence and be creative. Im not slagging milner but he is not that player.

i agree with that to be honest TFS.you`re guaranteed 110% from milner every game and in the right system he could be a real asset to us! how many times last season did some of our players go missing when the going got tough like at place like stoke and hull? milner cant dictate the price tag but if he comes i hope some people forget about the price and remember he is wearing a city shirt and get behind the lad!!

Apologies if mentioned on here recently but on Skybet Milner is now 2/5 to join us by the end of the summer transfer window.

We lal know its only an indication of the cash going on the bet but even so that is a very strong indicator.

On tyop of Silva signing today, Milner would be a great addition imo

Welcome Villian.

To be honest, one of our problems last season came with us losing games in the last ten minutes. Perhaps Milner will help to shore that up a bit. Still, I can only seem him playing on the wing, not in the centre for us.

With us signing SIlva I really cant see this happening now surely.....

Where he going to play ? Ireland and Silva are better in central midfield we also have Dejong and Toure.

Johnson, Swp and bellamy are better on the wing. Seems like a completely pointless signing and they want £10 - £15 million more than hes actually worth.

David Silva signs for Manchester City, and Milner may follow

Silva, currently in South Africa with Spain's World Cup squad, has agreed a four-year contract at Eastlands, despite interest from Real Madrid and Chelsea.

Man City had feared that Real would win the race for the 24 year-old, but Silva has rejected overtures from the Bernabeu to move to the Premier League.

With Germany defender Jerome Boateng having tied up a £10.5 million move from Hamburg last month and Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure having agreed a £26 million transfer from the Nou Camp, which will be officially rubber-stamped by the end of the week, Silva's arrival has taken City's summer investment beyond £60 million.

And despite Milner's unremarkable World Cup campaign with England, City manager Roberto Mancini remains keen to add the midfielder to his squad before they fly to the United States for a training camp and pre-season tour on July 12.

Aston Villa want around £30 million for Milner after rejecting a £20 million last month. But while City are prepared to increase their bid, they are now waiting on Milner's camp to signal their intentions before returning to Villa with a new offer.

The capture of Silva is a major coup for City, however. Despite his absence from the starting line-up of Spain's last two World Cup fixtures, he was a key figure in the Euro 2008 success and is regarded as one of Europe's brightest talents.

Silva, who will undergo a medical following the World Cup, said: "The time is right for me to seek a new challenge, and I am thrilled about playing in England with Manchester City.

"There has been a lot of speculation about me, but I need to fully concentrate on playing for Spain in the World Cup.

"That is why my advisers have been dealing with City for me so that I can have my attentions only on South Africa and playing well for my national team."

City manager Mancini now expects Silva's arrival to tempt more leading players to move to Eastlands.

He said: "In signing David, we are showing the world that we are bringing the best players here and that we hope to compete to win the Premier League.

"When players see what is happening at Manchester City and the ambition they are attracted to what we are building and want to be a part of it."
