Milner will give us balance on the right, Toure isn't going to get out wide and get crosses in. De Jong is a great player but too one dimensional and I think he's been sussed out now to be perfectly honest but he'll still be a very valuable squad player and will be the first one in if we get injures or someone needs a rest.

Totally correct.

I thought the purpose of this formation was for the fullbacks to do the crossing? And if Toure was the holding midfielder, how can he be holding if he's driving forward?

Lescott in for Kolo, imo.

And De Jong for Barry. De Jong can protect while Toure storms forward.

If we sign Milner its as a direct replacement for Ireland IMO.

He can play central, behind a forward or on either wing (but isnt very good there, probably not as good as SWP or Johnson)

He wont be first choice and he wont play every game IMO, not with the signing of Yaya and Silva.

Silva, Yaya and De jong will DEFINATELY be first choice, Dejong was our best midfielder last season and is having a great world cup he wont be dropped. Milner could play on the right but its not his best position as we saw with England and Johnson and swp are pretty much as good as him there. You also have to consider Bellamy he was brilliant last season loads of goals and assists, Silva can play on the right or behind the forwards.

Barry was poor to average, so was Ireland, Barry is versitile and a good option he will be used as cover, this signing will mean that Ireland will definately be sold if it happens.

This would be a good team but can see Toure in the back 4 with Kompany dropping out.

We really do need a LB though especially one who can actually defend

Top 4 material right there.

Milner would be a good signing, but an overpriced one at that. 20m is near is true value, hopefully we wont go much move above that.
