I don't want us to get him. He's not that great a player.

My thoughts entirely. He's like De Jong on speed who scores more goals.
Pretty sure there are more creative players out there.

Re: city make milner bid (SSN)

I'm mildly underwhelmed, i think he's a good player, and very versatile, so would be a very useful player to have. I'm not sure he's £20million+ good and if he's good enough to play for a title-targetting team as first choice.

Re: city make milner bid (SSN)

Decent player but not worth 20m, let alone 24 or even 30 or whatever other figure was mentioned.

We really need to stop throwing silly money at other clubs for decent players that do not really improve our team a lot.

Re: city make milner bid (SSN)

So where would he play for us? Wide left? Wide right? In the middle? Very weird signing this. Another grafter who runs all day but not really the player we want at the moment.

Not sure I agree with this.

We are going to have a LOT of games next season. Petrov is gone and Bellamy may be too. Even if he stays, there is no way he can play twice a week for a year. Milner can play on the left, on the right and in the centre. Even FB if we are desperate for a goal. A utility player of that quality is hard to come across. He'd be a great addition to the squad.

That said, £24m is too much, let alone £30m. However, Villa don't need to sell, he is a rival and he is English. Oh, and we are City. So we may have no choice but to pay it.

Absolutely miffed. Don't rate the guy, watched villa a few times and he is ok, but not of the quality I was hoping for.........atleast its not Ashley Young though, he really is crap

Hi ste. I'm quite pleased, he was great this season, but it doesn't excite me at all. I do think he'll be useful and may turn out brilliant, but i would have preffered someone younger with more potential. I do think his versatility will be very handy though, and roberto might think he can turn him into a world beater!

Re: city make milner bid (SSN)

He's will be very useful for the squad, very, very useful, but the price being bandied around for him is absolutely ridiculous. If we pay any more than £20m for him i will be majorly disappointed, this is the kinf of short sightedness i would expect from Hughes, not Mancini
