It's "down" for a start, but it's also about 5 miles away from where her phone and dog were found before it's tidal.

It's a strange case for sure, if you wanted to make it look like someone had fallen in the river on the face of it that's what it looks like, but there could be a lot more going on behind the scenes with this investigation

If she was abducted why bother to leave the phone on the bench (or on the floor near the bench) would the abductor just chuck it in the river?

We are only seeing a small part of what the police are investigating here

Looks about right, there is a guage available online here (you'll have to locate the map to suit), which says it was 0.46m at 0900 on Jan 27th, I expect that is at the weir, so a bit further downstream from where her phone and dog were found.

I said this about a week ago - no signs she fell into the river so why not assume third party involvement and treat it as a potential crime scene and cordon the whole area off to prevent contamination of evidence.

Silent witness would sort it

Nicola is 5’3” tall (1.6m) and a good swimmer.

On the 27th January the maximum depth was 1.57ft, I know you can drown in 6” of water but only if incapacitated.

I find the whole think mysterious in the extreme.
