Mourinho quitting? (merged)

Jose will only go to a club that puts a decent transfer budget on the table for him as he's not interested in being second best, he wants titles and cups.

IMO you can rule out Arsenal and Spuds straight away based on funds and wage caps.

Rule out Liverpool as they are just too far behind now and again can't see them being able to offer the transfer funds he'd require.

Only chance scum have is if they are bought out and bacon is asked to move upstairs.

Leaves us and Chelsea.

I can actually see him back at Chelsea, enough time has passed now where I don't think Roman would have a problem allowing him back.

With us, it just depends whether Sheikh Mansour wants him or not. I have no doubts that he has hankered over him in the past, whether or not he still wants him at the helm only the Sheikh will know.

Always worth bearing in mind that should we win the title Bob may feel his work is done and decide to move on, he won't be short of offers and if the Italian national job becomes available he may fancy that.

We've dropped 12pts this season and many of them have been a result of undeniably poor referee decisions. On the other side we've only been gifted 2 extra points by one decision (Spurs, going by the logic that Mario shouldn't have been on the pitch to win his penalty).

vs. Chelsea, a stonewall penalty denied for Silva at 1-0 up. We lost 2-1. That is 3pts lost as we very likely would have won at 2-0 up.

vs. Sunderland, a clear offside goal given for Sunderland in the dying seconds. That is 2pts lost as it should have been a draw.

vs. West Brom, a clear onside goal by Richards disallowed for offside. That is 2pts lost as it should have been a win for us as WBA were offering nothing to even hint at a fightback if we scored.

I won't get too picky and point out that Dzeko was fouled right before Fulham's goal in the 2-2, but we've been gifted 3pts and had 7pts taken away from us. With even competent officiating that would mean we should have only dropped 7pts this season, can't ask for much more of Mancini and it isn't his fault the rags have grinded out loads of 1-0 wins to stay on our tail.

Is it any wonder City are now going to the FA over poor decisions against us? 7pts denied and let's not get started on the ridiculous amount of petty fouls, cards, and penalties given against us lately.

I know it's not the league, but you can add to that the 2 stonewall penalties we didn't get at Bayern when the score was 0-0 and we were playing flowing football and were on top and the penalty we should have had at the dippers this week when Adam kicked Dzeko in the CC...

on the Mourinho topic, personally I think the owners will take him on. At the end of the day, they are not only businessmen, they want to raise the profile of Abu Dhabi via City...what better way to raise that profile than to appoint Mourinho...love him or loathe him, there is no current manager who has done as much as he has done at different clubs in such a short space of time and I reckon he would be what they consider the final piece in the jigsaw with ladyboy being the jewel in the crown.

The owners, club and fans deserve better from the press and media and what better way to bring them round than employing Mourinho to make us the media darlings...and make no mistake, if you think we are the best team in the land at the moment, then we would be by a country mile with him in charge. His attention to detail is up there with any manager and far and away better than most.

Wasnt it last season Richards had a goal wrongly ruled out for being offside against WBA. And the Sunderland goal wasnt clearly offside.

There is no way in hell that if Mourinho become City manager, he would leave FOR United. United wouldn't even want a manager who has managed City in charge.

If you do get Mourinho, he will turn you into a powerhouse. Love him or loathe him, he is an exceptional manager, and despite coming short against Barca with Madrid, he is close to winning La Liga this season, an achievement that i can't see any manager in Europe achieving.

Mancini seems a decent guy but Mourinho is a level above. If he was in charge of you today, you would win everything imo.

If you lose the league to that poor injury ridden United team, Mancini deserves to be sacked imo considering the talent at his disposal.

Takes a neutral sometimes to hit the nail on the head....

If we are stupid enough to let Mancini go if we dont win the PL, if we do appoint Mourinho, we need to start thinking who will replace Mourinho in 2/3 years as he never sticks around long. If he does win us the PL he will start to look for his next challenge.

Stablity is needed, Mancini is well on the way to that. 1 more window to get rid of some more of the deadwood and bring more of his buys in, all at good ages and we are all set.

Only way i can even think of the owners going after Mourinho is if we fail to finish in the top 3 and miss out on the CL (4th i know still qaulifies but as unseeded, knowing City we would get the toughest draw)

If we don't win the league, would put the order as City, Spurs, Liverpool.

Otherwise, fight between Liverpool and Spurs.

Dalglish will do what is right for the club, long-term, not himself.

Mourinho's next job is five years and City will have missed the boat.

If Soriano is employed, forget it.

He stopped him getting the job at Barca according to his book.

I can't see that myself, Roberto would surely want another crack at the CL with the resources at his disposal. I used to like Mourinho when he was at Chelsea but in recent years he's overdone the "look at me" angle with the repeated El Classico controversies. I know he does it to take the heat off his players but he's overstepped the mark too often for my liking.
