Mourinho quitting? (merged)

Bob has been here 2 years and now is top ahead of sour alex who is without(and I hate to say it)doubt the best premiership manager its ever had...

FFPR will have a major say in where Mourinho goes...cos wherever that is,they will have to spend big to get in 'his' players.

Keep Bob...hes doing ok.

I remember Khaldoon's interview at the end of last season. It was our best season in a long, long time, yet Khaldoon wasn't bouncing off the walls at all. He was calm, and just praised people for meeting their targets, not exceeding them. It was quite a revealing interview. While we were all absolutly ecstatic, for him it was just business as usual, we'd done what was asked, and if we hadn't, he'd probably regard it as failure. Our owners demand the best, these guys don't fail. It honestly wouldn't surprise me if they decided to look to Mourinho if we failed to win the title. Its ruthless, but thats how it is. Its naive to think that Mancini gets 5 years to build a dynasty regardless of what happens. I would feel a bit sad if Mancini was sacked for missing out on the title, but hey, they're the guys that have put the money in and have transformed our fortunes, we can't really argue.

The other thing to remember as well is that it would cost around 20m euros to buy Mourinho out of his contract, and not many clubs have that kind of cash to splash out...to balance it out, the world-wide coverage and exposure we would get as well as potential sponsorship deals could wipe that out quite easily...add in the show-pony and we could be stratospheric...at the end of the day, although the people who matter care what us supporters say, they are hard headed businessmen and to me this is one gift horse we can't afford to throw away...while I have reservations about both of them (and I hate the show-pony with a vengeance), the question you have to ask is what the owners are after and unfortunately you have to come to the conclusion that Mourinho has more chance of winning the Champions league than Mancini...the world isn't kind and although he is a very nice man, people with money make decisions based not on how nice you are, but what you can bring to the club and what you can win...

There are a few positions in the team imo that we are well catered for...eg Hart, Richards, Kompany, Yaya, Silva and Aguero, most of whom would walk into any team in the Premier league if not Europe, but a couple of additions to that would take us to the next level and you would have to say that players would be queueing up to join us more so for Mourinho than Mancini and the knock on effect commercially would again make sense for FFP

If the shiekh wants Mou then i back him 100%. However i hope Bobby stays.

In my opinion the owners wish to win trophies and become Europes best in a style akin to Barcelona's when at the top of their game, this will never happen under Mourinho in the Prem. He just about gets away with an attacking style with flair in La Liga and that is just a glorified SPL.

Jose will only go to a club that puts a decent transfer budget on the table for him as he's not interested in being second best, he wants titles and cups.

IMO you can rule out Arsenal and Spuds straight away based on funds and wage caps.

Rule out Liverpool as they are just too far behind now and again can't see them being able to offer the transfer funds he'd require.

Only chance scum have is if they are bought out and bacon is asked to move upstairs.

Leaves us and Chelsea.

I can actually see him back at Chelsea, enough time has passed now where I don't think Roman would have a problem allowing him back.

With us, it just depends whether Sheikh Mansour wants him or not. I have no doubts that he has hankered over him in the past, whether or not he still wants him at the helm only the Sheikh will know.

Always worth bearing in mind that should we win the title Bob may feel his work is done and decide to move on, he won't be short of offers and if the Italian national job becomes available he may fancy that.

I'm surprised you've ruled Liverpool out. I think if he leaves Madrid this summer that'd be the obvious job for him to take in England. Although their owners aren't Mansour rich, they've got enough money to to be able to build a title winning team with Mourinho in charge.

From Mourinho's point of view, restoring Liverpool to their former glories would be arguably a bigger achievement than what he did at Chelsea, and certainly far more prestigious.

I thought he'd hold on until the rags were available. Couldn't see him coming here, maybe if we didn't win the title and Mancini decided to leave or the guys upstairs thought it wasn't good enough. But I honestly thought he'd take over the rags.

If Mancini did leave it would have to be pep for me only the barca man he would be my number one choice

Why i could sweep all before me with that team. No plan B so if you cant keep them at bay they can be beaten. Guardiola is the a bloke that walked into the easiest job in the world

I don't think this assumption is valid that Soriano knocked Mourinho back at Barcelona, he automatically would do the same here. Soriano's book makes clear that Mourinho wasn't a fit for Barcelona, at that time. Doesn't mean that Soriano would therefore deem Mourinho not a fit for City at this time. Very different conditions apply.

If City were to make a change, then the overriding requirement is for the manager with the best chance of winning stuff. We're not currently an establishment club, and what we need to drive us forward is success on the pitch. I suspect that Soriano is as likely as anyone else to see that as the priority and act accordingly.

(In any event, this is a decision that will be taken in Abu Dhabi and just implemented by the CEO, not made by the CEO himself).
