But professional pride will kick in (the same thing that has currently happened at City) once Chelsea sign another centre back in 12 months time. They have moved him on to Bournemouth (after 3 loan spells) the first time when he wasn't getting regular football at Chelsea. You think he won’t. You have nothing to back that up.
Even if he isn’t, he’s managed 2 years of being a bit part player without asking to leave.
He’ll be on more money on a longer contract. He’ll be fine where he is, however much he plays.
No, it’s about the World Cup. This is probably his last chance at being a starter. But professional pride will kick in (the same that has currently happened at City)
Zagadou is a good option but would be expensive.

Short term gain that is all. In the end it doesn't really matter as we have made a tidy profit on a squad player and what Chelsea does after this coming season is their choice. No, it’s about the World Cup. This is probably his last chance at being a starter.
Plus, he’ll get more money on a longer contract with a bumper signing on fee.
Thanks some one mentioned Zagadou as an option I have never seen him play but it shows at least there are players if we weren’t able or prepared to Chuck money at it. I am sure the club will have a plan anyway. God the Sterling thing hasn’t even been confirmed and it feels like that’s been going on for weeks.
Agent fees, signing on fee and salary.?He’s a free agent.
How on earth do you know what Chelsea’s transfer policy will be in 2025?Short term gain that is all. In the end it doesn't really matter as we have made a tidy profit of a squad player and what Chelsea does is their choice.
It’s ok, we can get him back on loan in January.Disappointed by this. We kind of hung him out to dry first season always playing him next to Mendy in rotated teams when returning from injury but last season performances looked more accomplished the more he played. Huge heart, tremendous athleticism and brings a different style to our other centre backs.
Also thought he was carving a niche at left back against the back 5 cloggers with his ability on the cover, intensity to his recovery runs and added aerial insurance. I'd play him there every time against the likes of Spurs and Chelsea who look to sit and score with one or two passes down the centre of the pitch. Pep probably wouldn't though especially if we sign the Brighton lad.
Wouldn't have thought he'd be desperate to leave considering he would certainly have played more if not for injuries. If Chelsea are planning to still use 3 centre backs he'd be playing a lot but have seen it said with our transfers a back 5 might be an option for us. Probably less so with 3 centre backs in the squad.
It won't involve Ake as a regular player. How on earth do you know what Chelsea’s transfer policy will be in 2025?
Who will it involve? It won't involve Ake as a regular player.
Lol. Mystic Meg when it suits.Who knows but Ake will be gone by then.
You could be right.I really like Gvardiol.
It is quite obvious that he is not quite good enough for a side pushing for honours on a long term basis.Lol. Mystic Meg when it suits.
That’s irrelevant. Few teams can buy Ake off us now as he’s a valued squad player. It is quite obvious that he is not quite good enough for a side pushing for honours.
