Why are the Hill discussing stuff from a press conference a week ago, where Zelenskyy says what people have said for years as if it's news?

What is newsworthy about the idea that Russia will come for Baltic states next? It's what their governmet have been saying since before this war started.

Question; why haven't Russia just gone 'nuts' before now if this has been the 'fear' for years?

Why did it take until 2014 for them to invade Ukraine? Why did it take until 2008 to invade Georgia?


No one except the anti-anti-Putin brigade, the people who are so committed to blaming America for everything, believes that Ukraine was invaded to stop them joining NATO.

Ukrainian membership of NATO was not even on the table pre-invasion.

Russia isn’t pretending that’s the reason anymore, they have fallen back to uniting Russian people and the idea that Ukraine belongs to Russia and doesn’t have the right to exist as it’s own country.

So why are anchors on the hill lying about the reasons for the war? Because they’ve spent decades and built careers out of pretending every problem in the world is caused by American imperialism.

They’re no different to the “realists” you relied on so heavily back in February who were 100% convinced that Russia would wipe out Ukraine in a weekend because theyd built careers fearmongering about the second biggest army on the planet.

A) I was never in the group that fantasised Russia would be 'wiped out by the weekend' (and some are very much still on that drug in the other thread)

B) Continuing Ukrainian shelling of the Russian speaking Donbas in 2014, probably tipped a decision there, reneging on the Minsk Agreement. With the push to have NATO on Russia's virtual doorstep, it was a factor in saying no more.

As a side note, the continuing re-writing and celebrating of the Neo-Nazi factions of the Ukrainian army as 'heroes' should be disturbing for everyone. Countries fought in World Wars to get rid of these idiots and yet the MSM and MIC are turning this on its head even as they decry the very same Nazis on their own shores!

No, I wouldn't be but I don't think we have any intention of arming Russia anyway.

I have difficulty reconciling the fact that Russia is clearly struggling to progress across the Ukraine (beyond the bits that basically want to be russian) with the idea that they will suddenly develop the ability to do this and then continue unimpeded across the Baltic States and eastern Europe. The bots in the other thread somehow expect us to maintain this self delusion in our own heads.

The answer is if they are neo-nazis that kill Russians then the answer is yes. Same as we assisted al Qaeda once they started having a pop at our enemies in Syria etc, and the Mujahedeen (islamic extremists) when they bled the Soviet Union dry. Strategic goals come before morals.
