Loos far too generic, and not a City kit, stick an Arsenal badge on it and it could pass as one of theirs . If the branding was white or even sky blue, then it would look more like a City kit, saying that, we've had some right dayglo monstrosities in the past, so maybe I'm just being fickle.......

my lad wanted the kit with his birthday money so we went to the stadium shop to buy it.

had to go through a whole rack in his size to find one top that didn't have something wrong with it. i had a close look before letting the boy part with his cash - i think you should considering the price - and every shirt but one had loose stitching on the back (on the left hand side near the collar) or at the front where the black tag is.

the shirt looks ok IMO but the quality is piss poor

My 5 year old hasn't taken it off for a week been playing about in it like hell been washed about 7 times and still not a mark or pull on it. Excellent compared to last seasons quality shirt as well I'll have mine on playing golf tomoz.

glad to hear your kits are in good nick - my boy's is to be fair, and hopefully will remain so.

my point was more about the crap they had out, the fact that i had to sift through 20-odd tops to find one that was in perfect condition (like a new item should be), and the fact that there is no chance the others will be taken out of the shop and therefore will be sold to someone even though to me they looked like seconds.

City can stick both home and away kits where the sun doesn't shine. I won't be buying them - EVER!
Shocking kits.

Surely you mean this?

I'm made up on them - they look good enough on the players. However, with these prices, they're not for me.

I read somewhere or maybe dreamt it that nike designed it based on the iconic Gillingham promotion kit (you know the one). Anyone else read this?

Think I read something to the effect on the OS. The reference is the yellow in the Etihad, Nike tick and triangle inside the collar... if you can call that a reference.

Well, they did say subtle reference, but come on.

I bought the home shirt yesterday from the city store in town, wandered past the Nike store and had a look at the display and saw the city shirt on a mannequin on the display and looking at it realised that somehow it looked different. I was confused, so wondered in, looked at the shirts and realised that this kit was actually 90 quid as opposed to 55 from the City store.

Tried on the one in the Nike store and it fitted much better, the material was a better quality and it had air vents down the side, this is effectively the shirt the players wear. Took mine back and got a refund and bought the shirt from the nike store. This shirt is much more fitted than the other one so not sure it would be to the liking of the more rotund city fan.

Apparently, they don't sell that version in the City store as most of our fans think the shirts are already overpriced. I am led to believe the rags do exactly the same.

This was complete news to me yesterday. Are all other city fans aware of this ?

Nike had a player version and a fans' version last season too. Only difference, they offered both in the City store.

So nothing new and the price for the player version is the same as the infamous England shirt.

Don't know if it's been posted elsewhere so apologies if it has, but Sports Direct have got 20% off everything today with an offer in association with The Sun - presume there's a voucher in the paper, or if shopping online enter SUN20 at checkout.
I've just ordered 2 of this season's new City shirts and saved a tidy amount, Sports Direct were cheaper than the City Store anyway and with another 20% off makes them decent value. The 20% comes off the total so includes the price of the gold champions badges and printing if you want that.

They do not have the new away online yet , does the voucher only work today ?

I think both the kits look fine on the players. I rarely buy football shirts for myself but I did buy three of the Umbro kits, starting with the classic "first" one.

I have the home shirt from last season because Etihad kindly sent me a freebie. I would not have bought it - and certainly would not have had my name printed on the back - but that was not because I dislike it. I do prefer the material on the Umbro shirts but this season's home shirt seems to have better "cloth". Only seen replica shirts up close. I think all the Nike designs have been OK so far and much better than a lot of the horror shows we have had over the years. This season's also look far better than expected on the basis of leaked shirts.

The absence of white in the new home kit is somehting that needs not be repeated next season but that is a purely traditional view rather than aesthetic.

Nike really need to keep City if they want representation at the top of the most watched football league so they should be pullong out all the stops for next season.
