I work over 40 hours a week for under £1000, I have a son, have to pay off a loan, gas, electric, rent, council tax, food, clothes, driving lessons and nappies EVERY MONTH. I've managed to get a season card even though I have to use my HOLIDAYS whenever city play! so to all those people coming on here moaning about ticket prices going up...DONT come on here complaining you cant afford one because of this and that, and to the OP, I understand it may be annoying but surely you cannot complain as football is purely entertainment, and if you are going to be entertained more this season than last, then you should pay more...

P.S, cost of living rises yearly so it isn't actually a whole £10 up on last year, equivalent..it is probably around £5 more.

I disagree with that, better players doesn't equate to better entertainment !!! United and Chelsea have been boring as shite for the last few seasons, expecting to win and the atmosphere suffers as a result !

Depends what you class as entertainment, you could be in league 2 winning 6-0 each week.

Cat A has gone up £2/3.

I.e. Cat A last season SSL £36 SSU £36
This season £38 and £39

Unfortunatley, thats not the case mate.

I enquired about my City v Arsenal ticket and it will cost me 46 pounds. It all depends on where about in the ground you sit. And i'm not talkig about the more expensive tier 2. If you are prepared to sit in the corner then it is a bit cheaper. But no one puts Blakey in the corner :-)

As i said, i simply cannot afford a season ticket. nearly 600 quid in one lump is just too much.

But you'll have the time of your liiiife!

BlakeTheBlue,

I'm not looking for an argument here, so please don't take it that way, as I sympathise with your situation. But, if you do indeed go to every single home game, you really need to find a way of getting hold of a season ticket as you are just spunking money down the drain at the moment. Even with the added interest payments, it will still cost you a lot less per month to get a season ticket on finance than to pay for two matchday tickets.

And feel free to shoot me down in flames if I'm wrong on this point, but I'm pretty sure I paid 42 quid per ticket in East Stand Level 1 last season when I took my Dad to the Liverpool game, and I know for an absolute fact that an East Stand Level 3 ticket for the derby last season was 43.50 because I bought one for a mate of mine and still have the email receipt. So I think the prices in your original post are quite a long way out.

think tier 3 is too expensive, especially for the Cat A games.
I wouldn't pay it if I didn't have a season ticket.

But as others have pointed out if you buy fairly early you can sit in the North Stand for OK prices so I'd likely go in there even though I prefer not to be behind the nets.

It may be affected by our deal with the council ? we must be close to the 36,000 season ticket threshhold, we keep all money up to the attendance of Maine Rd, after that the council take a cut of each ticket as the numbers rise. This percentage also rises as the numbers pass set thresh holds. Seeing as City as a club produce the tickets, pay the admin staff, etc, etc then the price of the tickets that go on open sale, after the Maine Rd cut off, will become dearer to possibly factor in the council payments. As we are looking at potentially quite a few sell outs this season thats a production and administration of approx 11,000 tickets that the profit margin is drastically cut on, especially after reduced season ticket prices and the clubs commitment to youth that we all donate to (dont forget £5 for under 16's to help ensure the future fans of the club).

I feel sorry for ANYBODY who suffers financial hardship at any time, and have been there myself and who knows could be again, but lets be fair the Vast majority of the Fans have been treated and rewarded well thus far by our owners and, at the end of the day, They bought a Business not a charity.

This was always going to be part of the collateral damage of the takeover.

The owners are 100% businessmen and that priority will come way ahead of Manchester City and their fans. Like it or not, everything they do for the fans, while always being of benefit for the fans, will also have an element of business building whether it be financially or pushing the brand.

It happened at Chelsea and the Swamp and the one thing that time-served City fans were hoping wouldnt happen was that the club would not attract the plastics. Many real City fans have not been able to afford a season ticket or a regular week-on-week for whatever reason for many years now and just because we have all the new found riches does not all of a sudden put a few extra quid in those fans pockets so they can now afford even more expensive tickets.

They are still having to prioritise their finances and for a fair number of fans, they are already being priced out of watching the team on anything other than a once or twice in a 'bluemoon' basis.

And it sickens me when i read other City fans post smug, arrogant posts on here condemning them for having the audacity to complain that they cannot afford to support the team in the current climate due to the club hiking tickets out of their price range.

Look accross the City at their fans, and then just hope when you look in the mirror, you dont see any resemblances sneaking in!

my s/t is £508.00 that works out at £26.73 per game,i got my sons junior at £95.00 so for the two of us it works out at £15.86 each, cant see a problem with that

Your right mate, Thats very good value. But as i say. I just can't afford to pay that in one lump sum. And many people can't. Especially nowadays while money is exceptionally tight. The owners made a big deal out of the fact they have frozen ST prices. But we now know all they have done is stick it to those of us who cannot afford a ST, by putting single ticket prices up a ridiculous amount.

If they had just stuck a couple of quid on every ticket, then fine, i'd happily play it. But a bloody tenner, on every ticket, !!!!!!!!!! thats ridiculous.

This could help you http://www.zebrafinance.co.uk/football.htm the club offer this service to spread the cost.

There are loads of ways to save the money, best way I've found is to get a money box for your spare change. You'll end up with a few hundred by the end of the year and you never notice that you don't have it.

Buy a loaf of bread and make your lunch for work every day, I save about $40 a week doing that. Bread costs $2.50 yet if I buy lunch from the shop its $7-$10.

How about you go to one less game every now and then and put the money towards next year? Buy a season ticket and any game you can't make, put the ticket on Seat Exchange and use that money for next years renewal.

I'm pretty much supporting my girlfriend through university atm, yet I managed to buy my season ticket for Sydney FC (though at a much lower price of around $250 -around 120 pounds) using the spare change method, didn't even notice that I didn't have it.

We'll be struggling to fill the ground if it's correct about the 10 quid a ticket price increase.
Seriously. We struggled last year when they were only charging 19.50, if it's now 28 quid for a comparible game then people aren't going to pay it, whether it's Samaras or Adebayour or whoever.
