After reading this thread I had a quick look at the barcodes web site
which states as follows........

Newcastle United FC have today written a strongly-worded letter to the Football Association in relation to the tackle by Manchester City's Nigel de Jong on Hatem Ben Arfa in Sunday's Premier League fixture, which resulted in Ben Arfa sustaining a broken tibia and fibula of his left leg.

The club has asked the FA for the appropriate action to be taken against De Jong for the tackle which in the club's opinion was unnecessary and used excessive force.

Newcastle United will also be writing to the appropriate body regarding the performance of the match officials, specifically the referee, in relation to a number of incidents during the game including the tackle on Ben Arfa.

What a shower of (please insert your chosen expletive)

oh no, a strongly worded letter!! how terrifying!!!

and, the appropriate action has already been taken against NDJ - nothing.

The FA can take as long as they like over this...... there is no timeframe as the "complaint" has been lodged by another club..... the FA regulations (as shown earlier in the thread) are set out for players disciplined by the officials in the game.... this is different and therefore falls outside the guidelines set out......

This is from (a) a football league referee and (b) from an employee at the FAPL......

Explain to us again how this was a "scissor tackle"?

Ahh newcastle...the club that knew full well of Bartons history and temper yet welcomed him with open arms...

For him then to get straight red for his two footed lunge on xabi alonso by the corner flag..

Had they got the penner that they should have had I doubt any of this bullshit would have kicked-off.

[arrogance] When will Newcastle realise they're no longer a big club in terms of attracting viewers for the Premierleague? They're simply a small, bottom table club who are crying because they didn't win on the weekend. [/arrogance]

His leading foot is firmly on the ground and his trailing leg is bent back cos Nigel wasnt attempting a two footer or owt...his momentum on a wet pitch took him through.. thats all..

Fair and square challenge...those saying otherwise are clutching at straws..

@ marcspurs, a couple of things 1. Does it make you feel big pretending to know referees and pl employees? 2. Enjoy your 15 mins if fame in the champs league, it will your last for a while

You know that, I know that and almost an idiot that goes to watch football knows that but marcspurs seems to disagree but won't explain why.

And here's the killer punch....If Nige had of gone in two footed the he wouldnt have broken the players leg... he would have gone right through under him..

Would have got a card mind..
