Only those regulated though. You wouldn't get away with a dodgy bet through Ladbrokes or William Hill of course. Far more money goes through unregulated entities.
Unregulated markets are becoming less frequent but obviously still exist. The fact is they still wouldn’t pay out on what is construed a dodgy bet and there’s no recourse to challenge the decision. Furthermore the only examples of influence from Far East betting was a rumble of spot betting on Premier League games a few years ago. It was on the first throw in and I believe no money was paid out.

There’s no incentive for players, and I’ll just quote Premier League players here, to be dishonest, it’s just not worth what would be small money to them, the consequences would be a total ban from football.

If there was any evidence of corruption in the English game it would be widely known. It’s absolute bollocks the Premiership can be influenced by betting, complete nonsense.

I'm sure Sheikh Mansour and Khaldoon will be delighted to hear that.

I’m sure I recall seeing a documentary about Newcastle United back when Sir John Hall owned the club. I remember the intimation being that the North East mafia were endemic in the club which was a real problem. It brought to mind Ali Fraser from series 2 of Auf Wiedershen Pet. Wonder if Ashley sorted that or is it on Staveley’s to do list.

I have a feeling this may end up like when Franny took over at City. Not many of the Toon army have a clue about the FFP regulations. One 50 years old plus season ticket holder who is a solicitor I worked with thinks they will be able to spend 1 billion over the next 2 transfer windows. He isn't the only one. Another is expecting Sterling, Kane, Haaland & Mbappe in January. When I laughed he took the huff.
In 1 way I hope it does come off as it will knock both reds down the q. However, if it fails I will have a good laugh at the daft Geordies

Brings back memories of the 2009 Jan window, when Torres (Fernando) was 'nailed on' for City.

These rumours will excite the Toon, of course, but will be nothing more than that. They have to start with the type of player who is better than what they currently have, maybe with the odd mercenary thrown in as well.

Saint-Maximin looks a decent player, could be very good in a better side.
I don't know. He seems talented by might not do it in a bigger team there have been players like that, time will tell. He will have a better team at Newcastle next season most likely.

Talk of winning it 18 months ???? I will be decked if they win it within the next 5years .......... they have to pray that the likes of City, Chelsea, United and Liverpool drop off big time

if City get a world class striker in then they go to another level
If United get rid of Ole which sadly for you lot could be this season then it strengthens them ............ I mean come January are folk gonna wanna switch to a club that could be in a relegation battle ????
Like City found out from 2008 onwards everyone wants to beat you now ......... Newcastle will be the same.
The majority of clubs in the Premier will want them done knowing that next season they could be a major threat to there positions
Manure has had how many new managers since SAF retired ? Just getting a new manager doesnt mean they'll be better , they need to get the right manager for that.

Always presuming that we aren't the ones to get pushed out...
Given our record since our takeover there's nothing to indicate that. We're safe with Guardiola here and when he leaves we'll still most likely have one of the best squads in Europe. I'm certain that we will get a top manager as replacement.
We havent dropped out of top 4 since we climbed there in 2010-2011.
