Spot on. He changed the game when he came on. Good substitution.

I think the De Jong substitution and pushing Yaya further up may have had more of an impact?
Dzeko at 1:0 certainly made a difference though, he made sure that NUFC couldn't throw everyone forward and had them in two minds.

Re: Dzeko yesterday

Regardless of the form they were in at the time, you do not score 4 goals away at spurs unless you are a class finisher. What was important in that game was Nasri & Silva fizzing balls into the box for Dzeko which is his ideal service. He's not an Aguero who can beat anyone for pace over 15 yards, because he's simply not quick enough to do it in the premier league. But I seriously doubt that Aguero, Tevez or maybe even Balotelli could have scored that outrageous header at white heart lane.

With Aguero, Silva, Tevez and Nasri we can play very effective one touch attacking football which devastates teams.

But with Dzeko and (if we get him) Hazard and Nasri playing in wider, more traditional winger roles we could be just as effective, especially against park the bus teams.

Re: Dzeko yesterday

He did a cracking job yesterday.

Very frustrating player Dzeko. It really is a case of Dzeko and Hyde. He can look a world beater one day and then like a pub footballer the next.

Needs to improve consistency if he's going to stay.

The occupation of the defence was brought on by Dzeko however to act that that it had a greater importance than the De Jong substitution is laughable.

Mancini lambasted Dzeko for not positioning himself in the box when the ball was delivered late on.

Nasri also isn't a winger.

Re: Dzeko yesterday

Didn't you just use this argument to say he played well as he could have scored twice?

No I was just highlighting the fact that he got himself into the right areas to score. Tevez for all his neat approach play yesterday barely had a sniff at a decent opportunity.

You can prove anything with facts.

So you mean yes, gotcha

I thought he was AMAZING yesterday, the way he managed to not hit the target basting high and wide from about 10 yard was sensational.

Also, his first touch, which lead to a Newcastle thrown in, was top notch.

Even though I've always believed in the lad, and I think he positively affected yesterday's game, I've got to say that this was hilarious!

Re: Dzeko yesterday

I thought Dzeko did well when he came on yesterday, and contributed to the win.
