Next Captain

Now we have a new manager and our current club captain will be off on his tour of duty in January. I do envisage Mancini electing to make changes at within all areas of the club.

My personal choice for new club captain is Bellamy. He has all he right credentials and as long as his footballing efforts and enthusiasm remain for the club, (as opposed to playing for Hughes.) Then he would be my first choice.

Were he made of cast iron or reinforced concrete, my first choice, but I feel he will not be an ever present when most of Hughes tenure someone has needed a bollocking one way or the other.

De Jong would also be a good choice for leader. He certainly commands a lot of respect from both the squad and any opposition players.

Dunne was always far too quiet for me as captain. I prefer a player who is more animated and vocal.

Funny thing, but I'm happy with Toure, replacement while he is away I'd gor for De Jong or Barry whichever is playing on the day. Wouldn't let Bellamy anywhere near it, decent player but NO to captain, way too petulent.

I don't think Mancini will change captain until the summer. He will then probably make a decision about who he thinks is the best leader or bring in his own captain.
