Next Captain

I agree, keeps himself to himself publicly but I have no doubt that he is a great guy to be around. Foden and Brahim aligning themselves with him both in terms of his attitude and on the pitch is great to see and I am sure Dave will lead them both the right way.

I love knowing that Sergio and Silva are such classy blokes, and the United equivalent are them pair of ****s Rooney and Giggs.

Exactly what I'd come to say when I saw the title. It'll be Stones long term but if Kompany were to step down this season it might be a bit too much to give it Stones. Let him develop as a footballer first, leader later.
He is already a leader. He was born that way. Its innate for him. Tgats why he has the presence of mind to tell Dihno Kev is still on the field.

People naturally differ to him. Some players have that inate quality. You recognize leadership in them. Sure, Dihno might have just had a slip of mind, but deep down, its bwcause Stones looks talks acts and commands like a leader.

2 years ago before we got him, I posted several videos of him ordering his seniors seniors around. And Jageilka and our own Barry constantly differing to him.

He was 20 when that was happening.

John Stones -> King of The North and rightful heir to the Premier League throne.

Been saying this for years :)

Bastard Son... King of the North!

John Stones!

If we are being serious it has to be Kevin De Bruyne? Not joking at this moment in time he's the best player in world football. If you can't get motivated by this guy wearing the armband then you never will. We are blessed to have him at this club.

What's great honestly is that we have three different players that everyone is mentioning. It used to be we didn't know who would step up as a leader when Vinny was out, but even though I think long-term it will be Stones, I would have no problem with him, Silva, or De Bruyne being our next captain.

I can see it being KDB under Pep as he already is his natural mouthpiece on the pitch.

Yes, but in fairness he's gone missing from Nov to Feb 2 years running. Lets hope this year sees that nonsense done and dusted, he looks well up for it this year and if so than I'd agree with you.

I would imagine it is improving all the time (especially when he has to communicate with the defence) and he seems to be a natural leader.
There are still drawbacks in having a gk as captain. Kompany is brilliant when there is a flare up anywhere on the pitch. He's immediately in there arguing our case with the ref. He frequently chats to the ref during the course of the match. It's much more difficult for a gk to get in the refs ear

KDB IMO.. Entering his prime, is a senior player amongst our young squad, guaranteed starter, world class, speaks well in interviews. How he dealt with Watfords left back after he was wiped out by him was class, didn't square up on him just kept calm and told him off.

If Gundo stays fit he would be up there.

John bones Stones has the qualities

Jesus has the qualities too with his 100% every game attitude.
