Neymar

As for his time at PSG, i'm sorry but what exactly has he done there to go down as a great of the game?
You could ask the same of Mbappe then? Or Cavani? Less so this season, but Neymar has been important to their previous UCL campaigns, including when they reached the final. He’s now an incredibly tactically obedient and astute player, but people still expect him to just take the ball and do everything by himself. The thing that makes me thing he’d do well with Pep is exactly that he isn’t that anymore, his tactical awareness is underrated. At PSG though, they either win the CL or their a failure. Whether that’s fair or not is another story…

If Mbappe stays at PSG his whole career and doesn't win the CL, then the same will be targeted at him. Having said that, Mbappe already has a world cup winners medal which changes the narrative people always threw at say Messi.

I do agree though if you choose to spend the best part of your career at a club like PSG and don't win the CL or other major honors, the football world will deem it a failure. I think Neymar is a fabulous player i really do, i just think in 10/15 years he won't come close to being in conversations for the greats of the game.

What else can PSG win with that squad? Ligue 1 or the French Cup whatever that's called....... so with that squad and their wages of course their measuring stick is how they perform in the Champions League, only fair given they walk that league every year barring a miracle season.

Neymar should've been a all time great. The PSG move wrecked any chance he had of that. His standing at the time where he was at Barcelona he wasn't far away, but that move no matter how much he got paid was a step backwards. Thats the simple facts of the matter.

As for the thread Neymar as a transfer target, no way. He doesn't fill a need, nor fit in with what we have, nor warrant a chance over Riyad, Phil, Jack, Gabby, Sterling or anyone else we play wide at times. He wouldn't fit in the squad with his ego and carry on so no chance we even try for him.

He is one of the most talented players to ever play football. But his work ethic is poor, he is an ego bomb waiting to explode, his wage demands will be insane and he is 30 years old injury prone. On the other hand he will greatly improve City in FIFA 23 so...

Regardless of what many think of him, I don’t want to see him at rags or scousers. If he does leave PSG hopefully he’ll go to another foreign club.

He is a phenomenal player and Guardiola would get him up to Ballon D'or level.

Whether or not Pep wants to take the gamble with his attitude/work rate is a different matter.
