NHS Strike

Telegraph and Guardian for me.

My views on NHS wages are purely economic. NHS staff sell their labour to the NHS. That is their only relationship with it. The price of their labour can go up and down depending on economic circumstances, like the price of anything else.

At the moment the employers of the NHS's staff, the public, are short of cash. Money is tight. Jobs are hard to get. Wage rises are rare. There's a glut of people wanting NHS employment.

In these conditions economics dictates that NHS wages should go down, not up.

Anyone who wants a nurse to get a big fat pay rise should write her a cheque and post it to her.

There's no need for this generosity to be forced on all taxpayers because there is simply no economic reason for any pay rise at all.

Unless you're an MP yeah?

Let's all hope you're never in need of emergency treatment yet get to hospital only to be greeted by an MP who hasn't got a fucking clue what to do to help because the nurse and doctor said fuck this, I'm off to parliament, you get great pay rises in there.

We are all in this together remember.....

We are not all in this together.

NHS staff are striking for pay rises that we'll have to pay for. If they'd ever taken the trouble to find out how average private sector worker has fared over the last 15 or so years they'd soon learn that they are doing very well in comparison.

But they couldn't care less about that.

They just want more of our money so they can preserve their own standard of living.

That's not all being in it together. That's greed, and a selfish desire to feather you own nest at the expense of millions of people who are having at least as hard if not harder than you are.

They want 1% ffs. Maybe they just want to survive in a world where living costs just keep rising and rising.

Denied by the very few that are getting 10% next year.

Now that what you call being selfish, greedy and feathering your own nest!

Edit. Am I Being fucking clarkied here?

I cant believe you honestly believe the shite you are writing!?

A 10% pay increase is an act of greed and selfish desire to feather your own nest, not fighting to preserve a 1% agreed pay rise the recipients of the 10% are taking away.

1% is more than the average wage rise in the UK at the moment, which stands at 0.7%.

NHS staff have seen their wages rise over the last 15 years or so, and are now quite well paid for their skill levels.

Anyway, there is simply no reason to give NHS staff any pay rise.

We shouldn't pay more for their labour than the market demands.

If anything, given the prevailing economic situation and the jobs market we could probably get their labour for less than we do now.

Let's get one thing perfectly clear from the start, there is NO SHORTAGE OF MONEY in this country, we just need a government that will distribute it more fairly, and not just look after those that fund their party

Keep on ignoring the fact they were promised 1% by those getting 10% and they have been betrayed.

As for paying them less, you're a clown!

If they give them a 1% payrise, they'll be asking for 5% this time next year. You go into the job knowing what you are going to earn and when you'll get a payrise. To say these people striking don't get payrises each November is bollocks.

Personally I'd love 7 weeks a year off work paid. And full sick pay if I'm ever off. Instead they're moaning like fuck because they think they deserve more. If you think you are underpaid and overworked go and find another job! Striking solves fuck all. Especially when its at the expense of patients who have to have clinics and appointments rearranged while you're all stood outside with your placards. Sure I'll just pay more tax, fuck off.

As for standing at the entrances shouting and yelling at a hospital of all places. These spineless cunts then have the fucking audacity to boo and jeer at the members of staff who decided not to strike and be absolute cunts inside of work about it.

100% correct.

£billions can be found for wars, failing corrupt banks and bent politicians at the drop of a hat yet as soon as its anything to do with our own, we are suddenly skint and it's the scroungers and disabled to blame.

Get fucked!
