NHS Strike

"Ministers in England have awarded NHS staff a 1% increase, but only for those without automatic progression-in-the-job rises"

which amount to 3% on average. Approx 40% of NHS staff did get the 1 % rise the ones that didnt had already had on average 3% which is a heck of a lot more than most in the private sector

have to agree with urmston's comments on this one yes the NHS is vitally important but there isnt a good economic reason for giving this 1% rise across the board

They want 1% ffs. Maybe they just want to survive in a world where living costs just keep rising and rising.

Denied by the very few that are getting 10% next year.

Now that what you call being selfish, greedy and feathering your own nest!

Edit. Am I Being fucking clarkied here?

I cant believe you honestly believe the shite you are writing!?

1% is more than the average wage rise in the UK at the moment, which stands at 0.7%.

NHS staff have seen their wages rise over the last 15 years or so, and are now quite well paid for their skill levels.

Anyway, there is simply no reason to give NHS staff any pay rise.

We shouldn't pay more for their labour than the market demands.

If anything, given the prevailing economic situation and the jobs market we could probably get their labour for less than we do now.

Keep on ignoring the fact they were promised 1% by those getting 10% and they have been betrayed.

As for paying them less, you're a clown!

With no pay rise we will effectively be paying these NHS staff less in real terms.

NHS wages were grossly inflated by New Labour, mostly during a time when many private sector workers were beginning to experience difficult times in the run up to the financial crisis.

We could probably freeze or cut NHS wages for a few more years until they come back into line with the true market value of the labour.

When an employer is having a difficult time financially its employees are usually just grateful to have a job, and they don't go striking for pay rises.

Those employed by the public seem to think they should enjoy the good times even when their employer is short of cash.

This is a selfish and silly attitude.

Yet our nurses avg salary ranked 22nd out of 24 countries when compared to avg national wage.

Pay them too much do we?

Their employer is NOT short of cash though, it just chooses not to collect a LOT of it.

Unless you're an MP yeah?

Let's all hope you're never in need of emergency treatment yet get to hospital only to be greeted by an MP who hasn't got a fucking clue what to do to help because the nurse and doctor said fuck this, I'm off to parliament, you get great pay rises in there.

We are all in this together remember.....

We are not all in this together.

NHS staff are striking for pay rises that we'll have to pay for. If they'd ever taken the trouble to find out how average private sector worker has fared over the last 15 or so years they'd soon learn that they are doing very well in comparison.

But they couldn't care less about that.

They just want more of our money so they can preserve their own standard of living.

That's not all being in it together. That's greed, and a selfish desire to feather you own nest at the expense of millions of people who are having at least as hard if not harder than you are.

Fucking well said mate-Urmston is a clown he really is. In fact when it comes to this he is fucking clueless.

I like the "that we all have to pay for" part...

Urmston let me make it clear to you "WE ALL PAY FUCKING TAX"....Now stop wumming you tool.

Instead of spunking millions of pounds of shite the government should distribute the money equally.

I love my job,but am underpaid.

If they give them a 1% payrise, they'll be asking for 5% this time next year. You go into the job knowing what you are going to earn and when you'll get a payrise. To say these people striking don't get payrises each November is bollocks.

Personally I'd love 7 weeks a year off work paid. And full sick pay if I'm ever off. Instead they're moaning like fuck because they think they deserve more. If you think you are underpaid and overworked go and find another job! Striking solves fuck all. Especially when its at the expense of patients who have to have clinics and appointments rearranged while you're all stood outside with your placards. Sure I'll just pay more tax, fuck off.

As for standing at the entrances shouting and yelling at a hospital of all places. These spineless cunts then have the fucking audacity to boo and jeer at the members of staff who decided not to strike and be absolute cunts inside of work about it.

Are you for fucking real?
I'd love to know what yourself and Urmston do for a living and how much tax you pay per month.

Yes we all pay tax. And we all discuss how we want to spend that tax cash.

I don't want to spend it on pay rises for NHS staff because there is simply no need to do so.

Tax money should be spent carefully, not used to over-reward public sector staff.

I look forward to a series on tv entitled "millionaire tax dodgers" or "bent bankers" instead of having to watch how some woman with a flat screen tv and 3 kids is causing untold misery for millions of fellow citizens. Maybe the government would comment on how disgraceful it all is and vow to put an end to it eh?

Enlighten me then..What,Who do you think this money should be spent on if not to reward the hard working NHS staff who do a fantastic job. I don't think it is to much to ask for a pay rise which covers the cost of living.Do you?
