A criminal’s ethnicity is irrelevant once the police have made an arrest, clarified it isn’t terrorism related and that they aren’t looking for anyone else in connection with the incident. There was no need for the general public to demand more information. The thing is, in any criminal case, the police don't generally give names or details of the suspect at first. Then they give a limited amount of information, much less than usual if it's a young person. Then silence falls until the trial. And then court proceedings are reported.
There's nothing unusual about any of this. But certain people made out it was all a conspiracy to conceal the 'truth'. And then they made up their own 'truth' to fit their prejudices.
The fact it takes forever from arrest to trial does not help, of course. But that's how the system works.
All social media did, through people like Farage and his “questions”, is stoke up the racists to go rioting.
