Both Ducker and the Fail are talking through their collective arsehole's. they are guessing what the deal is worth as no monetary figure has been announced and is unlikely to be

I wonder if Nissan sell more cars here than Chevrolet. ;)

Chevrolet don't sell ANY cars here! They pulled out of the market to make way for their couzens Vauxhall.

Not strictly true GM bought Daewoo and rebranded the cars Chevrolet the intention was to move Opel / Vaukhall up market however they have changed this decision and Chevrolet (Daewoo) have withdraw from Europe, as from 1 Jan 15 leaving only Corvette and Camero on sale

City's sponsorship deal with Nissan will be worth more than £20m over five years. Big contract in automotive sector #mcfc

He should change his name to Jonny Ball.

He hasn't got a clue. Do you think anyone at City told him the finer details of the deal? No!

Do you think anyone at Ni$$an told him the finer details of the deal? No!

The details of the deal will stay confidential.

Then the Daily Fail picked up on the story like it always does and posted that figure. Zzzzzzzz.

Put it this way, 5 years, Manchester City, New York City, Melbourne City,(Yokohama F·Marinos) and the City's Women's team, etc. £4mill?

The partnership will see the Japanese automotive giant enjoy a strong brand presence at the Etihad Stadium and on digital platforms

Expect to see the Nissan name plastered all over the Etihad on the new digital advertising boards on level 1 and 2 next season.

Yeah, can't be just £4 million per year or Nissan will be laughing their bollocks off. However nobody is that stupid. I'd expect that it's ATLEAST £15 million per year. or at very minimum £10 million considering they don't sponsor shirts. Id guess that this brings us £20 million per YEAR not 20m over 5 years.

Now what we need is training kit sponsor as Etihad don't sponsor those? That can bring us £15 million per year.

For all the mocking of United's Chevrolet deal - GM aren't necessarily targeting the UK as a market. They're gaining exposure in many other emerging markets.

I'm all for poking at bit of fun at United and GM, but they're not complete morons!

MCFC have been sponsored by Etihad Airways for some time. Don't think it was particularly well known at the time.
OK there is a family connection but everyone knows this Airline now.

The power of advertising in the right places.

rag.

To be fair Chevrolet are pushing the Asian market and trying to increase sales in Korea, Thailand and China, so sticking their logo on a red dishcloth that's plastered all over the place will give them good exposure

Nissan has expanded greatly in Oz and the US so partnering with a group like ours with brands in each of those countries benefits both parties, we are certainly a business now rather than just a club, can only be better in the long run for us

Quite a few weeks back, certainly before the Japan/Nissan deal broke, I posted on here that this was happening. I was misinformed about the size of the stake in the club we bought but was also told that the Nissan sponsorship was potentially the biggest commercial deal that the club had ever secured and would banish the spectre of FFP once and for all. We'll see I suppose.

That would mean this Nissan deal is worth more per year than Etihad deal, which is £35 million per year.
