North Stand Expansion

Whether you like it or not this is where our fan base is now.

City is now one of the biggest football clubs in the world. Fact!

No doubt red shirt fans would laugh at that and at me

As I posted earlier, there where City fans, fans of other clubs, and football fans from all over the world doing the Etihad tour.

Groups of up to 20 people were passing me constantly throughout the day as I and other people folded up the banners and flags on the South stand, Level 1 concourse.

Outside the ground there was a constant stream of people walking around the ground, looking at the Etihad stadium, having their pictures taken in front of the Colin Bell stand entrance, going in and coming out of the souvenir store, and going on the Etihad tour, wearing their blue passes.

I was sat in my car having a drink, a family speaking Spanish were stood close to my car. They had come out of the souvenir store with bags full of City merchandise. They were taking pictures of the Etihad.

I won't post the full picture as it shows their faces. Two men and two women looked like they were from the Far East? Both women had City bobble hats on. The group were carrying bags full of club merchandise.

It would take capacity up to circa 78000.

The UAE have a philosophy of 'build it and they will come'.

They are currently building a Vegas style resort CASINO on a man made island off the coat of RAK.

Not doubting you in any way, more genuinely interested. In what context and capacity did you see this, and was it before this version of the north stand plans?

I do believe if they saw the benefit and need to do it, they would just go for it.

It’s not our fan base, its people that visit the club whether shopping for themselves, family , friends who knows.Some might go to a game but it’s not our fan base far from it.

It is our brand base maybe. Revenue generating public, that part of this development will target on non matchdays

nice to see that they bought 2 unfull bags of stuff at United , and then 2 bags+ at City. Give it another 10 years and it'll be all City bags.

It is our fan base. Why are you arguing when you didn't see what I saw. Loads of kids and people wearing City shirts and merchandise doing the Etihad tour. If you want to convince yourself those people I saw aren't genuine City fans, go ahead, but you are wrong.

Agree 100% and I find that so strange, they are bitter and resent it, simply incredible.

When you see a kid like Savinhio come from the other side of the world and in dreamland at signing for us, you realise what a global giant we have become.

What an incredible and stunning transformation in just over a decade.
