North Stand Expansion

I spoke to an Indian guy coming back from one of our games a couple of seasons ago. He had come to the UK to watch a United and City game. He told me he did the tour at both grounds and bought loads of souvenirs. They are football tourists and he will probably do the same in Liverpool and London at some point. The more successful we become and remain this worldwide interest will increase.
I was sat next to a kid from Dublin at the Stoke FA Cup Final .
He was maybe 19 or 20 at the time .
I asked him “ Why City”, to which he replied about his school being full of fans of the 2 red cheeks of the same arse .
This boy got it and I still think back every now and again of him absolutely lording it over his schoolmate goons .

Not all them probably no. But the picture of somebody with united and City bags with the comment ‘this is our fan base now’ was what it suggested to me you were saying. If it’s not what you meant, my apologies.

I meant fans from all over the world. The United merchandise could gave been for the 2 men? The women were both wearing City bobble hats (in this weather) and carrying City merchandise.

One of the women.

It’s quite normal really, when I was in been to games in Barcelona, Lisbon, Munich, Rio, amongst others going to Milan in October will probably see a game. Don’t buy merchandise though to be fair.

Fair enough misunderstood.

No I didn't suggest that at all? Did you read my posts properly throughout the day? And my latest post.

In fairness re-reading your posts I see what you mean, but at first sight with that picture below it that's what it seemed to me too. A bit of a sigh at how 'fickle' the fanbase might be, rather than you giving praise for the volume of new City following. Maybe the picture is the unfortunate blur to it.

I've past posted about viewing the Plans/CGIs of the E & W stands expanded up and out to enclose. the spirals.

It would take capacity up to circa 78000.

The UAE have a philosophy of 'build it and they will come'.

They are currently building a Vegas style resort CASINO on a man made island off the coat of RAK.
.
I said the other day the side stand expansions would take us up to around 80000. If the demand is there, I can’t see Mansour and Khaldoon not going ahead with it, especially with how they’ve been treated in this country. It would be a monumental project, as the the expansions would probably more than likely overlap the spirals. Would love for it to happen. Always liked big screens suspended from the roof in the middle of the pitch.

It’s not our fan base, its people that visit the club whether shopping for themselves, family , friends who knows. Some might go to a game but it’s not our fan base far from it.
That was my experience when I did the tour last season. Most of the other people were just tourists or fans of other clubs. They were just doing the tour in the same way UK tourists do the tours at Real Madrid or Barcelona. Manchester gets a lot of tourists these days. In the meantime I have met many overseas City fans in recent years both here and abroad. They were mostly great and very passionate in their love for City. I have not problem with anyone that wants to follow City wherever they come from.
