Plus, they had 4 days to recover. I'm a bit confused as to why they're so tired after their first midweek game of the season.
You have to be confused, it's not November for God's sake. How they would feel after playing midweek CL games and Liverpool Chelsea and Arsenal on weekends.
Season barely started FGS, no tiredness factor should be introduced yet.
Any amateur sportsman or woman knows not to train the same body part more than twice a week
Look at Utd, Real Madrid, Arsenal. Even Stoke and Birmingham. All lost or played poorly. there are some exceptions eg barcelona, but generally accepted that teams struggle after playing a tough game a few days ago. It's not rocket science to understand why
Back in days when I used to bet I would never bet on any team that played European midweek matches so I understand it could be tricky. But then again if we look at how teams react on it it's still teams like Borussia Dortmund or Tottenham who lose their feet and are not able to catch domestic league-champions league rhythm. The big ones fail here and there but still do the work on the right way most of the time.
We are all talking about City as legitimate contender for league title and brave among us count us as contenders for CL title. If that's something to be considered than Tottenham's last term route should be avoided or we're not going to be contenders for long.
