Coldplay are absolutely dwarfing what Oasis are doing.

As a neutral because I don’t particularly like either group, I wouldn’t say they are dwarfing Oasis, but is this because they have played on this big tour?

Go look at who sells the most concert tickets world wide and then come back to me.

I'm sure Ed Sheeran sells more too. They don't takeover the entire country and each city they play in though.

I would say so

Coldplay were playing 5 or 6 nights in some cities in Asia in the same stadiums that oasis are doing one night.

I don't care much for Coldplay but worldwide...they're a different level of ticket seller.

Went with my 8 year old daughter tonight, absolutely incredible!

Just an amazing gig, Richard Ashcroft also brilliant.

Lots of lovely women looking out for my daughter when she needed the toilet as well.

With any luck, round 2 at The Etihad next year!

Coldplay are big yes.
But they will never ever have a cultural impact on a generation let alone multiple generations.
They will never inspire young people to do anything
They will always have an incredible light show though

People jumped on the Coldplay bandwagon but as you say, they didn;'t have the cultural impact Oasis had.

Their light shows - fairplay, but it's almost a gimmick and if bands need gimmicks, they may as well release the Macarena!!

Fully agree.

99% of Oasis songs make me feel happy, 99% of Coldplay songs make me feel sad, I'd much rather feel happy listening to music!

I sort of don’t mind them and they have a few decent songs
Just don’t feel authentic to me
I think if it wasn’t for the ‘show’ they would have tailed off by now
It’s an amazing show to be fair
I just feel Coldplay is for people who like music but don’t have a passion for it
Each to their own thing
