Official "Changes To Seasoncards" Thread

Platinum for us. Happy enough to be honest. Was expecting worse. I wonder how many will take up the Superbia invitation? £5K for the 2 of us ... Couldn`t justify it.

I dont think anyone has an option but to go platinum and thats the really sly thing, the illusion of choice!

Its just a very clever way of bumping up tickets by £70/£80 without you realising its being done.

People keep saying my tickets only gone by "X", and in the next sentence saying they'll be paying the £50 extra. In that case it hasn't gone up by x, its "X + £50"

Mines gone from £475 to £505 which isn't bad. Don't understand why 111 is £50 cheaper than 110 though. Don't know whether to wait and try and relocate to 111.

Someone explain this Gold and Platinum thing, in simple terms. Is it worth the £50?

If you value points and require them for getting tickets to away games then its worth it. Basically for an extra 50 quid you get more points for signing upto it and more points when you buy tickets in the future. you also get more points than a gold member for any cup scheme you join.

Ahh right, cheers mate.

Also, whats the situation with relocating? I seen a date there after the renewals to relocate. Does this mean I can renew and then after they're all up, I have a choice to move?

It seems if you want to relocate you dont renew when you normally would so except that your seat has gone. They then look at what remaining seats are left and offer a 3 day window for people to relocate to those. After this the remaining seats go on sale to anyone else.

The club have been extremely smart with this. Working class fans are the losers yes. But they have been the losers for over 20 years.

The issue appears not to be the price per se, but the 'enticing people into the platinum category'. They have pitched it perfectly. An extra £55. That will sell people into that category based on the seductive lure of double loyalty points.

Very smark Mr Cook. But you are still a twat.
Exactly mate, people are to fuckin thick to realise they're tickets have rocketed but it's been hidden in some marketing bollocks!!!

Really? Can you show how my ticket for next season has "sky rocketed" if I simply pay for the gold option?
Well I think mine in the south stand has gone from £407 to around £450 (which isn't bad) but that's not my gripe. My gripe is that with the new different levels of membership i think that I'm being strong armed into having to get a platinum one to ensure that I can stay near the front of the queue for the big away games etc which puts the cost upto around £500 making that a 20% increase from what I paid this season.

"Sky rocketed" in my book mate !

Shouldnt the headline on the website say

"Your seasoncard just got better........For us!".............

On another point ,It says if you want to move seats then you should not renew during initial spell but will have the opportunity to move seats between 26-29 June.

It then goes on to say that if you dont renew by 26 June you will pay the higher price.

Can anyone clarify this? Surely you shouldnt be penalised just because you want to move seats?

I have had a seasoncard before, but not this year due to a severe lack of money. (Had to go for the citycard instead).

Does this mean I'm going to have to buy one in the general sale :\. (also how do you rate my chances of getting one).

Might opt for a Citycard again this year but couldn't face not watching us in the champions league.

More points for more £££ hows that loyalty?

Its hardly a "loyalty points scheme" anymore..

It was always going to come once the FFP rules came in.

They still dont clarify who gets priority thou and this is another clever ploy. All I can see is that you get more loyalty points for being Platinum. It doesnt say that Platinum get priority over gold.

You could be on Value Gold with 7000 points and join cup schemes and still get priority

I'd ask the club for clarification on this, I read it as you need to renew by 26th June and then contact them about relocating from 27th-29th June. Presumably any price difference will then be charged/refunded as applicable.

I paid £508 to renew at the end of the Pearce "era" 4 years ago, including a £10 booking fee. If I choose the Gold option it's £505 for the same seat and I defy anyone to describe no increase in 4 years as any sort of a rip-off! I will go for the Platinum option for £555 as I do attend a lot of aways and the extra points will be handy. In fact if I was able to lay out the £2,500 I would go for the Superbia package - mind you even with 7,800pts they haven't sent me an invitation yet, the bastards!

It does say "Our Loyalty Points scheme remains" so you are probably right.. It will go off points no matter what level of membership you have.. I suspect that's only the case for league away games.. In the Cup matches you will be required to of signed up for the specific cup scheme before receiving priory of the so called "Loyalty Points Scheme".. As long as it doesn't go down to a ballot tho.. that would be a disaster!!

The only problem i have with this is allowing people to effectively buy loyalty points..

Surely all the current seasoncard holding fans worrying about losing out to gloryhunting fans can now relax as the platinum membership will give them the loyalty point boost they need to keep the 'new fans' at bay.

Also the only way Gold members can go on Platinum after this season is if a Platinum member drops down or gives up his card.
