Official "Changes To Seasoncards" Thread

My ticket on CB level two has gone up by 10% or if I go Platinum by 20%. That isn't clever marketing that is rip off! Chuck in my two kids tickets and it will cost just over £1000 for the three of us. Two years ago the cost was just over £600!

Don't know if this as been mentioned re the cup scheme price cap, but I found this in the T&Cs:

2.3. For the FA Cup Scheme and League Cup Scheme only, the price of home Match tickets up to, but not including, the quarter final stage of the relevant cup competition will be subject to the published price cap applicable to the relevant Cup Scheme. This price cap will be notified to Cup Scheme Members by the Club on the Website, and at the Club ticket office.

So it looks like European games are not included in the cap

Its not too bad when theres just one of you. But in our family, with 2 adults and 2 kids (paying East level 1 stand prices cos we sit with friends) an extra £50 each to receive 4 online mags/programmes is a waste of money. But if we only go for platinum for 1 or 2 adults, the kid will be even further behind on points. £200 to keep us all in the mix?

I am in the same predicament mate. 2 adults 1 child, 1 18-21 year old, not only is it an extra £200 to go platinum the junior seats have gone up a fair bit unless your in the north stand. I still think we get value for money compared to fans at other clubs, when you consider an arsenal fan will pay £953- £1944 next season. It is interesting to see how we compare to other clubs.

do you think when away tickets go on sale they will sell to platinum first?

for example a fan on 6000 points but decided to go gold would have to wait for platinum to get their tickets first?

That's a good question that the club hasn't really answered, I would guess not just because this would surely be listed on the benefits of being a platinum member if they were going to do this? I would guess it would go on loyalty points alone, just those who go for platinum membership will be gaining on points on those who o for gold membership.

can someone help me out? I'll be back in manchester from finishing uni this summer so i can get a season ticket now for the first time!
I'd go for the 'Gold value' or 'gold' depending on the state of my bank balance. Am i even eligable for gold standard? and when can i apply for either? is it June 5th when the renewals have all taken place?

cheers!

think you need to go on citys website under the ticket sections and have a look and also i would suggest platinum but im not sure you can get that because it might just be for fans who are already season ticket holders wanting to upgrade.... if you cant then get the gold because gold value looks to be rubbish coz you cant even choose where you sit its just cheap

good luck

You have to already be a season card holder to be eligible for gold value membership. You would be eligible for gold membership or platinum. Gold value is where you don't get to chose your seat, gold standard is the equivalent to a season card we all have this season.

Renewals start in June, new members can apply from 5 July but you will need to be on the waiting list to get this info sent through to you.

Cheers guys, I thought that was the case with value cards. I entered my email address yesterday on the OS to be notified of the gold standard ticket - is that what is meant by waiting list? or am i in danger of missing out? :(

Found this in the FAQ's section for those looking to upgrade from a CityCard or AccessCard and purchase a seasoncard/membership:

Q 17. Will there be a difference in price between existing Membership renewals and first-time buyers

A. Yes there will. All existing members should renew by 26th June. In July, any remaining seasonal Memberships will be offered to new supporters at an increased price

Might want to consider this when pricing up which option you want, the prices shown now will not be the price you pay

The price of success unfortunately. Did anyone really not expect this to happen at some point ?

Can't say we haven't been treated well in the past 2-3 years. £5, £10, £15 cup games. Buy 2 get 1 free, etc, etc,.

wtf? why should a new membership member have to pay more than a current one?

fuck off City, fuck off.

Maybe rewarding the ones who have been season ticket holders for many years?

Just take as some sort of price cut for the people who have ST's this season.

You getting a season ticket, btw?

I was a season ticket holder and have probably paid more in individual tickets than a lot of season card holders have paid for their cards this season.

I'll get one as long as the price doesn't go up stupidly, the highest ticket price at the moment for me would be about £410 if I keep away from Level 2, but if they're gonna dump it to over £500 or summit then no.

Do the Superbia holders get to sit in the posh seats on level 2? (and experience the ultimate matchday experience that was being touted by Garry Cook)

Anyone that pissed off about the new "memberships" that they have contacted the club!?

sent a mail about the £50 to keep effectively keep loyalty points intact - though I can understand why they've done it, to issue press releases that say they've only increased prices by average 6% is very misleading. Most will go Platinum therefore incurring increases of up to 20%, and a junior ticket in the family stand effectively sees a rise of over 50%! ;-)

but I also said that the overall prices are still extremely competitive.

that for current members it's a bite your hand off situation, heard an Arsenal fan on the radio saying he pays £1,100 for 3rd tier on the penalty line and he can only upgrade, not downgrade and that would cost him £1,400. And Arsenal will just take the ticket back if you don't want to pay that and give it to someone else.

Junior prices are ridiculously low so for them to go up quite a bit is fair cop, after all it's still cheaper than an adult's ticket for the same seat as an adult's, with all the extra perks the club lays on for kids and families at Eastlands.
