The fact his agent says unless there is a 180 Degree turn around he is likely to stay suggest that the whole deal hinges on something (As we seem to think the Loyalty payment) and its still a possibility, have faith.

It's not about who looks good or anything else. It's about money. This is nearly always the situation and never changes. Money > even Champions League in majority of cases.

Eto'o won't sign with Barca because he wants to walk away on a Bosman and run his contract down. Barca not happy. City step in and offer a large amount of money (considering Eto'o is in his last year) Barca happy and push Eto'o towards City. Eto'o not happy unless he is compensated for what he could have got in a signing on fee had he been a free agent in a year = loyalty payment.

Barca think if we stress his wages that City will pay he will forget about this and move. His agent hasn't forgotten and wants the compensation (he won't care where it comes from)

The loser at the moment is not us or Eto'o it's Barcelona. They will be left with an unhappy player who is doing his best to piss them off and will then leave for nothing in 12 months.

If Barca don't pay the compensation out of our fee they would be mad. £15 million is still better than nothing. If we really want him perhaps we will help out a bit.

That's it......just money....and if they can't sort it they all want their heads banging together.

Was thinking this myself, flex our muscles a bit,i suppose we could inflate the price of any of there transfer targets.

Regarding SpursMad do you think the reason he hasn't posted today is because he may not be in this country?
Maybe he is negotiating a football contract? Maybe he is very much in the know,Just my own thought don't abuse me..
