15 million sounds like a lot but if you work it out.

40,000 tickets over 4 years works out at about 4 quid something a seat per game. Not including Cup and possible Europe
fuck off why should city pay an extra 15 mill for a greedy bastard.

I want eto'o but 38 mill is us breaking the british transfer record for a 28 year old who is in his last year of his contract. A bit too much if you ask me.

That matters not. Eto'o is a big big deal, if he comes then others follow very quickly.

No offence but we said that when Robinho joined

And we're buying Tevez and Eto'o!

Instinct is such a bitch at times. There's a lot of popcorn-chucking going on today.

Don't be ridiculous. Put yourself in Barcelona's position. They either pay out the ten million and get the transfer fee, or they refuse to pay out the ten million, don't get a transfer fee, lose him in a year on a free AND have to pay the ten million loyalty bonus for completing his contract.

They have a choice between selling and being 15 million up, or not selling and 10 million in the red. What would you do? Give it time and they will probably crack, they're in a weak position. Just have some effing patience, and maybe think it through a bit more.

What are the long term implications of us just giving the extra? Our current players will see that as just a sly way to pay him more, and want higher wages and there'll be more fuel added to the fire of taking us to the cleaners for cash.

I'd agree under normal circumstances. We all know the playing field isn't level though so lets tilt the bastard in our direction for a change. Compromise. That's how most business deals are concluded. Barca need the money. City don't. As for the other players they need know nothing. Undisclosed this, undisclosed that. A percentage of merchandising here, a tweak of bonuses there. It's all part of the negotiations and is standard stuff when it comes to this calibre of player as far as I can see.

Fair enough danny, you did say that you were joking, but then others did have a pop. Perhaps you need to put a smiley face at the end lol.

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

As far as I can see Barca have a choice between

- Sell, have to pay the loyalty bonus of ten mill or whatever, and end up with a profit of fifteen mill. (15 mill up)
- Don't sell, lose him for nothing in 12 months, and have to pay the loyalty bonus of ten mill. (ten mill down)

What would you do? I think eventually they will crack, they'd be idiots not to.

What they WANT is to be able to sell him and not pay the loyalty bonus. They can hold on to see if they can do that until August 31st, which is when I see this dragging to unless City impose a deadline.

Spursmad321 just said its still 100%. I'm gonna believe him now as it's doing my head in on here!

How can it be 100% and then not?

My head and F5 finger are too tired to care anymore. If Spursmad321 says its 100%, that'll do for me until I do infact see Vassell on the teamsheet, and not Eto'o!!

Eto'o is a mercenary git and he can fook right off

especially when he bangs in the winner against the Rags. He can fuck right off into our corner.

Re: Samuel Eto'o [merged]

This will run and run until Barca have tied up the services of David Villa, which, judging by Valencia's stubbornness, could take a while.

They won't let Eto'o go without a nailed on replacement.

Agreed. Unless there is a compromise solution......
